If you hear one STOP SHOOTING!
I shoulda turned this job down....3 bullets and I’m still digging. I was hoping to be able to knock them back in far enough to unlock the cylinder. That didn’t happen either slap

Wow 3 that’s some more kind of special there. How is that thing still together? It had to be blowing fire out both sides of the cylinder.

My guess would be.... All the rounds were low power, reduced recoil loads. Combined with the fact that a revolver will vent the pressure by the cylinder. That's the only reason somebody didn't lose a hand.

How do you determine that a gun like that would be safe to shoot again? I'd think an xray or something like that would be in order.

I wonder if you could get it hot enough to melt the lead without hurting the gun

For the sake of simplicity, I would probably hack it up and toss it in the trash, nothing of value would be lost following that strategy.

Those are the only reason I can figure as well the gun didn’t come apart in his hand.
Specially with it being an alloy frame

Thought crossed my mind. But I didn’t want to risk heating the alloy frame

Yeah, with a Taurus I'm not sure I'd go to the trouble to try to salvage it in usable condition.

From the pics it looks like there’s as unfired load. If it is would you disassemble and let us know the weight of the powder charge ??

158gr jacketed lead flat nose bullet sitting on top of 2.4gr of Trail Boss powder.

Per Hodgdon the starting load is 2.7gr for. 158 LSWC.

From the data it appears there’s a good reason for the squib loads
