I know some of you have cursed wardens, the police and such for being a holes. I figured thatd be a sure fire way to get a ticket. I assume you can and not get fined in some way for it?

(a) A person commits the crime of disorderly conduct if, with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof, he or she does any of the following:

(2) Makes unreasonable noise.

(3) In a public place uses abusive or obscene language or makes an obscene gesture.

(4) Without lawful authority, disturbs any lawful assembly or meeting of persons.

(5) Obstructs vehicular or pedestrian traffic, or a transportation facility.

(6) Congregates with other person in a public place and refuses to comply with a lawful order of law enforcement to disperse.

(b) Disorderly conduct is a Class C misdemeanor.

(c) It shall be a rebuttable presumption that the mere carrying of a visible pistol, holstered or secured, in a public place, in and of itself, is not a violation of this section.

(d) Nothing in Act 2013-283 shall be construed to prohibit law enforcement personnel who have reasonable suspicion from acting to prevent a breach of the peace or from taking action to preserve public safety.

If I get a ticket for telling a GW to GFY because he wrote a stupid ticket, that is something I'm sure I will have no problem finding a lawyer to defend me. Respect is earned, it is mot given, even if you wear a badge.

If you are an ass to the game warden, then he can be an ass back at you, and win. He could go check you in the stand at 4:30 every time he sees your truck for example. I look at it like this, the game warden is doing a job that a lot of folks would not want to do, yet it is a needed job.

why would it be a good day. i mean hell you break the law then you pay the price.. plus a number of the wardens i know now wear body cams so its not you said/he said deal if it on camera you acting a fool to the point of getting a disorderly charge then sorry for ya but and reputable lawyer will say sorry bud..

i tell ya what respect them and they will respect them, act like an ass and get treated the same. it goes back to what you probably have been told as a kid "treat people the way you want to be treated"

The ones I have had issue with, are the ones who get out of their truck and immediately go to ass mode, wothout me ever saying a word to them. Things would go a lot smother if they used a little tact and courtesy. Please note I said the ones ‘I have had issue with, not all of them, or everyone I have had dealings with.

I may be mistaken but a few years ago didnt a federal appeals court rule that cursing at a LEO was protected under free speech. threatening an officer will get you arrested but just insulting him is protected.Im sure cussing can still get you arrested since a LEO can charge you with anything but its up to a court to convict you.

No. There is case law from the Alabama Supreme Court that says police officers are not the public and you can not be convicted of disorderly conduct for your actions towards police. I believe the case is Smith v. Anniston.

The case basically says that police officers should have thick skin.

Anybody who thinks they’re gonna go toe to toe with a badge and win in the short term is a complete dumbass. You might get the case dismissed or whatever, but your going to tote an ass whoopin or hang out in a jail until you see a judge.

If yuo cuss a regular person they can sign a warrant on you . For foul language or also for provoking an assault

I came real close to doing some jail time because a couple jake leg tallassee city cops way back when . I got out of ever thing but they toted that ass whopping for awhile

I have no problem if he's doing his job, but when they start giving tickets like in an earlier post for fishing without a license, or like I got 30 years ago from a GW, I'm not going to be silent.

I've had good and bad experiences with LEO's, and there have even been a couple of times when I probably should have been arrested or gotten a ticket. I knew it and was thankful and expressed my thanks to the LEO. I've also experienced the type of dickhead LEO who abuses the authority granted to them. This type usually reveal themselves right away when you interact with them, and they do not deserve, nor shall they receive any respect from me.

For the record, I always show them respect and have never had any issues. All the GW's I've dealt with have been very respectful. What I'm talking about is like what's been mentioned before. They get out and immediately go to A hole mode without a reason. I got pulled over one morning on my way to work for passing a broke down car on a double line. Cop gets out and informs me I'm getting a ticket for it and is a real prick about it. Heck I didnt know it was against the law. I apologized and was very respectful but he stayed in dickhead mode.

I have found it is best to just avoid them completely. I dont come or go the same way. My truck is parked behind the house (not in view from road). I walk everywhere. I have a cell cam at my gates. If I see them I just leave a different way.

If I see someone standing there I usually turn around and go out another way. No confrontation means I have fewer problems. Hell I need the exercise anyway.

this auto azzhole goes both ways. I stopped a fella one afternoon on the Warrior above Lock 7 for pulling a girl on skis w/o an observer or mirror, and cutting between shore and the bridge beam. When I pulled up to his boat he said"What in the hell do you want?\" Well now I wanted to warn you but now I want to see yer license because you are under arrest. Attitudes can get ya in or out of trouble depending on what kind ya show.

There was one in Tallapoosa county back in the late 70s that was a pure ass hat . He got away with a lot stuff back then that won't work now .

I agree Frankie, most of the ones I have worked with have been pretty good guys, hard working and easy to get along with. A few of the ones I worked with needed a lil retraining in how to deal with folks. No need to be ugly to folks, even those who prolly deserve it.

I learned a long time ago to give the attitude you get from them and don't answer any questions they don't ask. I think I've only ever had 2 negative interactions with law enforcement, one a GW and one a deputy sheriff.

I don't think I could be a Game Warden. I dang sure couldn't be a cop. There is no way. Far , far too many idiots out there and it would have to jade you into being a jerk to the ones who aren't idiots..

Most of the GW's I have interacted with were good guys. There was white GW in Hale County that was a complete butthole, luckily I got the black GW who was a great guy. They were checking us at a dove hunt.

Troy, I agree. The vast majority of wardens I’ve met were really good people just doing their job. But those two up here were azz hats. They actually made it hard for the newer wardens because those two ruined the perception of wardens for a whole generation.

worst warden I ever knew was one in New Mexico . We had multiple run ins and problems out of him while bear hunting. Bastage was from the Bronx, New York and was a complete asshat. Local Sherriff had taken his radio back from him he disliked him so much. I made several phone calls to the Director of NM game and fish, who subsequently fired his azz. I hope I had something to do with it.

I had a run in with one named Rawls here in Tuscaloosa County back in 1998 that was a total dick.

Used to be one in Butler county years ago who was a jackass. His last name was Cox.

We’ve got some good ones in our area these days. Never seen or heard of the field officers write a ticket that wasn’t earned. Officer Ben Montgomery, Sergeant Michael East, & Captain Johnny Johnson are all great guys.

Last night I went to see Luke Bryan at the WHARF. While passing thru security and clearing them, a female security woman in a t-shirt told my wife she couldn't come in with her expensive Coach purse that can also carry on her back, because they do not allow back packs. I lost it on her and yelled its a FUC87ng purse and not a back pack, she bowed up at me and said it isn't coming in, I asked my wife was she willing to throw it in the trash and wife says NO. I called her the B word in front of an Orange Beach Police Sergeant, who asked me to step back and just take the purse back to the car, which was 3/4 mile away. I said all this while looking right at LEO. He could have made trouble for me, but he also agreed with me and told the woman, who said it still isn't coming in. You can be vulgar in front of LEO, but they can also find things to get you on.

Wait until you need one on your side. I used to have a similar opinion, but after having a warden help me nail 2 poachers, my opinion changed. I'm sure there are some bad apples in the bunch like any job, but weve got a good one in Crenshaw

Game warden in Greene County checked me as I was leaving our lease year before last, polite, friendly, no issues. He's passed by our camp a couple times, never a problem.

Usually if I start hunting in a new area I try and make a point to contact the area game warden BEFORE season starts. Sometimes they can fill you in on the area and I think it makes things easier down the road if you were to need them or they paid you a visit. Seriously haven’t had an issue with one while hunting. Several years ago I was checked two mornings in a row while fishing. I told the guy that it was getting a little excessive and he needed to start remembering a little better.

I watched my dad verbally jump all over one on the lake one night. He stepped over in the boat with mud on his shoes and stepped on dads rod.

Growin up i always liked Larry Allison cause he would write a ticket and leave. He wouldnt keep lookin to get you.
