I am, and I love my HOYT Ultra-tec, but I get tempted every summer. Buddies start buying new bows, I see the commercials, and all the hype. But after I shoot a newer bow at the shop, I’ve never thought anything was as smooth, quiet or comfortable as my Ultra-tec. So who else is keeping their old bow & why? I still shoot a mint condition Mathews MQ1 because I love it. I also have a Mathews Switchback XT but I like the MQ1 much better. I know an Aldeer member right now who would love to have my MQ1. He mentioned just the other day that he would like to have one.

I shoot a Mathews Feather Max. I bought it brand new 21 years ago. Same thing for me I see newer bows that shoot faster and a lot more quite than mine.

Mathews switchback xt. I think it’s a ???? model. Been with me a long time. I think this is possibly the best bow ever made. There is nothing on the market today I would trade it even for. B

So who else is keeping their old bow & why?
When I miss, the limiting factor is me. That's why I've got a 15 year old bow.

I have a Mathews Switchback. Picked it up around 2005-2006. I want a newer one but just can't pull the trigger.

B I have been told the same thing. I haven’t shot a whole lot of newer bows, but I’d take my old switchback over the ones I have shot.

I got a McPherson Edge I bought second hand on here. No idea of the model year but I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

I shoot a 2008 DXT I love it, but I regret selling my mq1 i used to shoot, I'd buy it back in a heart beat. That was a fantastic bow.
May not have killed anything, but always a good time

I shoot a 2013 PSE Bowmadness. I have no intentions of buying another bow anytime soon. When I do, it'll only be because something broke on it.

Still shoot a Mathews Q2. To this day it is still the quietest bow I have ever shot.

I still have most of my old Bowtechs, i even shoot my Old Glory (Max 4 camo) from time to time, i won my first IBO tournament with that bow, and it's still a sweet shooting bow. Heck i have a few i need to get rid of, the last bow i sold was my black pewter marble Allegiance tournament bow, and that was about 8 years ago 😆

I don't know what year it is but I shoot (when I shoot) a High Country. I don't think I've had it out of the case in 4 years.

I bought a 2007ish Pearson spoiler sp-1 off craigslist about 4 years ago for $75 Very light and compact. I love it. My bow tech says he's suprised at how quiet it is and how well it shoots. You just said Bowtech. Just sayin.

I've still got the first bow I ever bought. A Mathews MQ32. I've owned a couple other bows since, but I've never like one as much as it. I hunt with it just as much as I hunt with my Elite.

Still shoot my old Jennings Buckmaster from the mid 90's. Just picked up a Bear Archery white tail 2 likely from the 80's I want to set up as posted in my thread. But i admittedly also have a new crossbow

Still shooting the original Mathews Switchback. Every year I look at the new bows, but ultimately decide that some things just don’t need perfecting. I shot an old Parker solo cam prior to this and use to put notches in the riser for every deer kill. If I would have done that with the Mathews I wouldn’t have a riser left. It’s a killing machine.
