Trying to decide which to go with and then I read reviews for both in the App Store. Neither one has great reviews for their apps. Who has has used these cameras/apps and are the bugs worked out?

I don’t have any issues with the covert app.

My Spartan has worked fine, although they did redo their app a few months ago. Set mine up yesterday and have been getting pictures all night. There’s also group on FB for their cameras.

Zero issues here too and I have been using the app for years.

I have zero experience with the Spartan cameras but the Coverts have served me well with zero issues.

My fraking LTE covert has been down since Tuesday. They blaming it on Verizon. I burned some ass up on the phone today. My 3g is working just fine.

I'm in the same boat as you 257! My 3G is still taking pics; but my LTE has shat itself since Tuesday as well. I have hammered Covert by email, from their last response being so short; I now figure you had just got through burning their ass up!

Well low and behold I am in the same boat with my 4G model. I was hoping my batteries were just dead but nope ....

That bitch I talked to Friday said it’s on Verizon’s side. I told her that’s great and all but the camera says gosh damn covert on it and I want it working. I told her they better compensate my bill. She said they would to call back when it gets back up and they’d do something. It’s BS

Got a jager pro trap setup and it has better service in the woods than my cell phone has at home right now. Camera is showing 3-4 bars and phone 1-2. Missing some pics too.

Talked to customer service today and they have a new firmware update that you have to load but it fixes the problem.

Good deal guys. Y’all had me scared for a minute. Just my luck to order something and it start screwing up. But mine are AT&T. Got them in today and about to get them activated. I just bought regular Energizer Max AA batteries. Didn’t see where it recommended lithium. Am I good?

Use lithium. Lasts 2x longer at least. But I’m running energizer max this summer so far they’re ok.

Got my first one up and running. I’ll work on the second one tomorrow. Instruction book could have been better.

My coverts came with a cheat sheet. Had em running in 5 mins

Hey 257, is this what your email from Cover said: It will be another 10 days or so before I can update mine now since I'm offshore right now. I'm hoping the wife can manage to follow these instructions, but I'm not holding my breath!

We were experiencing a network issue with Verizon. We have worked with them to get an update pushed out to resolved the issue. If you follow the steps below from the cameras it should resolve your issue.

Firmware Update
1. Turn camera into setup mode
2. Let it fully connect to the network
3. Hit menu
4. Go over to your NET tab
5. Go down to FW update and press OK then YES
6. Let it reach 100% and follow the remaining steps that will show on the camera display screen.
7. Once that's done you will need to upload and download your settings under the SYS tab.

To take a manual photo to make sure it is sending successfully to you APP.
1. Press your SHOT button
2. Press the OK button
3. Hit menu
4. Go down to send
5. Wait the send progress hits 100% and check the App to see if the photo came through...If so, go ahead and turn your camera to the ON position and you should be good to go!

Yea man that’s it. I followed the email and it’s already hot taking pics. Deer are hitting feeders hard this pm.

10-4 Thanks.....If you see any space debris falling from the sky; that means the wife is trying to download and get the camera working and she has tapped into their systems. I don't have a lot of confidence my will work until I get home. Thanks for the info though.

Thanks Morris....I've sent her the Manual and a video....so maybe, just maybe she will get it. I won't know till Wednesday, she works a 7 on 7 off at one of the hospitals so she won't have time till Wednesday.

Everyone does know that Covert just SOLD last week to Feradyne Outdoors. Same people who own Rage Broadheads, The Block Archery target, Glendale buck.....usually when a company does this the cameras go down hill and quality suffers. Most good camera companies only do one thing...CAMERAS!!! Covert was owned by Joey Dorris for years...He did a great job because cameras was all he done. Well he is 28 Million Dollars richer now. Good luck with your Coverts.

Well, my Blackhawk LTE is still out of commission. It' throwing an error 27 code when trying to get the FW updated. Another email to them and see what happens from there!

Yes sir, Covert sent me a manual update but the wife could never get it to upload. So I called Squeaky and he came through for me and got the camera and worked his magic. It’s up and going now. Only thing now is Coverts new App; I do not like it so far, it may grow on me; but one will tell.

Same here. The new app is not like the old one at all. But I’m getting used to it and I’ve noticed they keep getting it better by the day.
