Y’all don’t like Rick and Bubba? Man I think they’re great! Pretty funny and give all glory to the Lord, can’t really ask for much more than that. I have to listen to Jon Boy & Billy when I’m up at Fort Campbell and it’s horrible. It’s not funny and it’s just vulgar.

If this is what he said about getting an accurate number of hunters, a reasonable person would suspect they're playing a long game to amend the "exempt" license structure to require youth and/or elder hunters to buy a license.

If a lot of the current exempt hunters buy this "privilege" bait license -- and that's a big if -- they'd have x-number of under-16 and over-65 hunters on file. Then they could say, "We're losing x-amount of revenue, so we should create a Youth License and change the old age exemption."

Fishing, too. Lot of young and old anglers out there.

Just wait.

Have the baiting licenses for August 2019 thru July 2020 gone on sale yet?

I'm not buying a permit. But I will bait if I deem it necessary.
And I sincerely hope Chuck catches me personally.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

thumbup

I doubt any of the older guys I hunt with are going to buy one either. They all hate game check and Im pretty sure they don't use it. Im on the fence of wether or not Im going to buy it myself. I know for a fact we are going to be putting up at least 2 feeders to hunt over. I think its a stupid permit.

I think its stupid to have to pay it, as well, but I think its even stupider not to pay it and chance a multi-hundred dollar ticket. To each their own.

I’d like to know how much the fine actually is. Some fines are no more than double the cost of the permit, if that’s the case you’d only be risking $30. It seems that the only reason they made baiting legal was because they thought they could make more money off the permits then they could fining people when it was illegal. It really trivializes breaking the rules.

The only thing that's CLEAR with the baiting law is that the state has found yet another way to separate people from their money....and many seem happy about it.

I'm sure the fine will be WAAAY more than $30.

I'm not disagreeing with any of you that this is another way for the state to make money or that the law is stupid but I'm curious what other laws ya'll just to follow and not follow? In my opinion it's always best to just obey the law until you can bother someone enough to change it.

This very question was asked in a thread last year. In the end, each person will choose what they will and won’t obey (reasons will vary).

I spend almost $15.00 to eat lunch. $15.00 to bait doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Its just a way to exploit Alabama's hunting population to get money through you buying a baiting permit or writing you a ticket for not buying a baiting permit. Its as simple as that !!
