Going to try it this year but okra is one thing I haven't pickled before.
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I pickle okra just like I do pickles. I usually add some hot pepper though, cause I like it hot!
Be kind to one another and tell the ones you love that you love them often. We never know what tomorrow will bring.

I did some last year and everyone that I gave some to loved them. I didn’t tell them I cheated and used the Mrs. Wages pickling kit. I did the dill and bread and butter kits and they came out great. Slicing cucumber now to make some bread and butter pickles now.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

I was going to use Ms Wages spice pack on my lacto fermented pickles but was afraid there was something in the spices that would stop the fermentation. I've fermented okra before and it was OK, but had too much garlic in it. You'll need something in it, regardless if you pickle with vinegar or lacto ferment to keep it crisp. I use 3 red oak leaves per quart.

Not a thing wrong with those packs/kits! They work well and make it EASY! Mrs. Wages Xtra Crunch is GREAT at keeping the crunch. A lil dab will do ya! I put up bread and butter, using the kit packs, garlic dill spears and sliced dills this morning using my own concoction today and added Xrta Crunch to them all, including the peppers I put up. Just cannot over do it!
