This tract is available for lease in your backyard. Click on your name and click profile and see if the links/info shows up. We were going to get it, but it is about 60 miles from Troy. If you don't run up on a club we might have an opening, we are full, but might be able to squeeze one more in.

If you are interested in the tract I would call ASAP in the morning, they open at 7.

OK, I didn't think it was that far. I've been driving 110 miles one way for 45 years and it seemed like a 30 or so mile trip for you. If I see anything I will holler, but leases are getting real hard to find.

Does anyone know anything about Annie Creek Hunting Club just south of Abbeville? I see they have had openings the last 2 or 3 years, so that's somewhat of a red flag to me...

They have several openings every year
But I know nothing about it...

That club has had openings for 7 consecutive years if memory serves me right. One of my friends called them several years ago and they wouldn't even offer to let him look at the land. Told him they were a group of older hunters that did not hunt a lot and that at his age he would hunt more than they would like.

O ok, that's what im hearing also. They want people to support their hunting but don't want other people to hunt more than them. Any of you guys know of a club around me that can squeeze one more guy in?

I will check with a buddy. He has a guy that is 2 weeks late paying. He may want to go ahead and move on. If so I will send you a PM.

I would rather not drive more than 45 minutes or so. I know a lot of guys don't mind driving a lot more than that, but i stay so busy...an hour is too long lol.

have you checked out ft rucker?, its alot of land to hunt. Gotta jump through a few hoops to start but I've seen some good deer come from out there,

I actually was talking about Rucker to my wife yesterday. I did a little researching and i think if you're not active duty, you can only kill 2 bucks and 0 does. Have you ever hunted out there goodman? I'm thinking about trying it if there isn't days of bs to get in the gate. I'm a meat hunter so I'm trying to decide if its worth my while. I know, I gotta quit being so dang picky.

Heck DGambler if you are in Newton you are about a stones throw from my place.A good family friend is in Newton also.Good luck on your search I know there is not a whole lot available in this area.Its possible a friend of mine may be looking for someone later in the year depending on just how broke he is come lease paying time, but that will be much closer to season.If something materializes with that I will let you know.If you don't find a place get up with me come season and I can hook ya up with a sit or two. I am usually hunting by myself, have plenty of room and it is nice to have someone else around for safety, as well as dragging assistance if necessary.

I've never hunted out there but i do know you have to have hunters education regardless of age, register your guns with them, and can only use the registered guns. Theres some spots that dont require you to go through the gates to hunt, 27 from enterprise to ozark is one.

I dont know if you've done any dog hunting but if you would like you can pm me and i can take you as a guest. Its in the new brocton area. You can still hunt when dog drives arnt going on, new members have to be recommended by existing members, so you can check it out and see if its something you're interested in and get to meet folks so they can get a feel for you.

Figured I would put it out there again since bow season starts in less than a week. Anybody know of anything around me that has an opening or a lease?

My wife told me about one the other day. Said they have 7 members "mostly older folks who hardly ever hunt" .the guy who told her said him and another guy split his membership, so i dont know if thats 7-8 members. 150 acres lol. Dues were cheap around $200 if i remember correctly.

I spoke to him yesterday and the folks that had been leasing it got it again.

DGAMBLER, it's opening day tomorrow, you been looking on here since early July. I'd start looking elsewhere or expand my county options. My 2 cents and good luck.
