I’ve been feeding grain free for years to a lab with allergies. If I feed anything with corn she scratches until there are bald spots. I put her back on grain free and it immediately clears up. I feed Loyall grain free. The ingredient that was not in grain free that they think might be related to heart problems is Taurine. Loyall added it to their food as soon as the studies came out a year ago.

This issue of DCM and grain free dog food came out over a year ago. At that time the FDA did not name any particular brand(s) of grain free dog food that was allegedly causing DCM. Just last week they came back to this issue and named 16 major brands of grain free foods that they think are directly related to DCM. They also showed the number of cases per brand of dog food to the known DCM deaths or diagnoses.
Taste of the Wild was number 3 on the list. Both my daughters and myself all fed our dogs TOTW. We all switched to Science Diet (not grain free) over a year ago.
None of our dogs have shown any signs, symptoms or indications of DCM.
I'll never feed a grain free food again.
