I've never cooked quail. Whats the best way to cook it? Fried or grilled. Treat it like chicken?

Remove the breast. Use the rest to make a stock and use to make rice. Cut up an onion and some skinless seedless tomato. Little EVOO in a skillet. Start the onions till translucent. Sprinkle the fillets with curry powder and add to skillet along with tomato. Fresh cracked black pepper and salt. Serve with the rice.

I like to fry mine, but i grilled some last month that turned out great. I split mine up the back (so they lay flat) then dusted with some Slap Ya Mama white pepper & drizzled with honey and let sit on the counter for half and hour, then grilled at about 5 minutes per side, just be careful to not burn.

Fried with biscuits and gravy with cantaloupe or filleted with a slice of pickled jalapeno, spoon full of cream cheese wrapped in bacon and grilled or in the oven.

Thanks, for the idea's guys. I marinated them for about 4 hours in some salt water with orange juice and dales, and then grilled them over some pecan wood. They were delicious. Gonna get some more and fry them.

Next time try only salt and pepper for flavoring.
