I would go get an 870 20 gauge youth for about $50 more bucks.
Ehhh I've got a nice 20gauge and truth be told this ChiCom gun I absolutely prefer to a modern Remington.
The 870 Youth is showing $300 at Academy, so $328+/- out the door. Pretty much double the cost over the little 301, the 870 is 20ounces heavier and then you have to spend additional dollars also purchasing a turkey choke.
The 870s are fine but it's a lot more than $50 when comparing new vs new for turkey hunting.
Do it. They also have the Federal TSS shells in stock.
It seems neat so far I've only test fired mine with generic bird shot, also picked up one for a friend of mine as gift. He ordered a couple of slings and ammo pouches off Natchez.
Reynolds in Opelika has 3 of them. A little pricier at $200.00 for the camo. They also had a couple in black little cheaper. Would have went home with one of the camo but they were firm at 200 and I like to haggle.

What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.
Just left the shop with one. Gun and a box of 25 Fiocchi shells for $198. Pretty neat place and super nice people. Can’t wait to shoot it! Thanks for the heads up!

Going to use the Fiocchi shells for snakes or what?
Just to send some down the barrel. May bust a squirrel before putting some TSS on a turkey’s face with it.

It's a dandy of a little gun, I put some grease on the choke and the friction points, it breaks open quite nice. So far the only thing I've shot with mine is a cardboard box from Overlord Bezos. I think they were Rio shells I was shooting.
BPW in trussville had several 2 weeks ago. Bottomland and obsession. They were priced a little higher than I’ve seen them online. But they sold me one for like $210 out the door. I haven’t had a chance to get shoot it yet.
Turkeymaster what red dot did you put on yours? What don't you like about the red dot?
some cheap one thats been working really well, just sits up high and i hate the idea of having a sight on my gun. I crawl and hunt in really thick places and dont want it to move. just like having a bead or fixed sight.
Also, the only turkey i killed with it this year io had to quick shoot him and he was so close i feel like i was lucky to be able to get the red dot on him
Shot it yesterday. Man, when you're used to shooting 12ga with 3" shells, this feels like a toy. It felt absolutely fabulous! Pattered good at 30 yards with that extended choke tube with the Fiocchi shells and kicked just a hair more than a .22 rifle. It takes some getting used to on how the safety works with the hammer but other than that, it was awesome. I love this gun and weighs about half what my Win. 1300 does. I'm gonna do a little different sights, prob something like turkey master did and let the wife use this when she goes. I'm a fan!

Agreed on the safety. I think I’m gonna put a set of truglo sights on it and use it as an all around gun until turkey season. I’ve had a blast with the little thing. Report is also minimal. My ears ring at the slightest gunfire. 22 LR will do it out of short barrels. I shot this thing all day and nothing. Only thing I would change is I wish it came with better sights on the included 45 Colt barrel
I dont see how Jebs or anybody else for that matter could improve a whole lot on the factory choke. I was shocked when I shot mine how well it patterned straight out of the box

Yours come with that extended choke tube? Mine is marked “EF” so it’s an extra full but no markings as to who made it or what constriction.

Yep, I think all the 301T models come with that extended tube. It shoots tight too. If I were setting up a youth gun I may even look to open the pattern up some
There’s the 40 yard pattern out of mine with 9.5s. I don’t think it’s too tight, I’m trying to go a hair tighter actually. These little guns are weird. One shot is tight, next shot is more open. I learned my gun is a lot more picky than any 12 or 20 I own.

You keep piddling with .410's, different loads, different guns....and you'll learn that ALL .410's are picky compared to a 20 or 12. Finnicky as hell! Not using buffer in your loads (that was a Hal suggestion) is about the best thing you can do to make a .410 more consistent shot to shot.

That's a fact. I had about given up on the 410 game before I bought the 301T. I had gotten pretty aggravated with the 2 or 3 other guns I had tried.
If you get one that shoots decent, don’t pay attention to numbers in the 10” as much as the pattern density without “holes” in it. I have played with 4 or 5 of the 410’s and each one likes something a lil different. I currently have an o/u I am setting up for my daughter. I had a 127 in 10” pattern with 9’s, but to be honest it shot a 107 with 9.5’s that looks more consistent.

It sure does Doc! Overall length of the gun is much shorter than I thought it’d be with that barrel length. Got it for the kids but I’ll probably try to kill a turkey or 3 with it

Its good but could be better.

I haven't shot mine enough to know but goodness $80 for a choke is a lot. Would love to see an offering in the $30-45 range.

Yea I’m not giving Jebs what they want for one. The guy at jebs told me they used the same amount of material on the .410 chokes as they do the 12 gauge chokes. I said “you must have a big scrap department.” He didn’t like that lol
