I just installed this on my boat trailer. Makes loading and unloading so much easier. No more having someone attach the winch hook to the boat before pulling it out of the water. I have a 19' Wellcraft CC and it works great.

Ramp n Clamp

Interesting. How is it on un-loading?

I can't really figure out what/how it attaches to the boat eye.

The receiver clamp attaches to the winch post. You unlock the clamp by pulling a lever on the side just before you launch the boat. Then when you load the boat, the receiver clamp hooks through the bow eye and locks itself again. It is the forward momentum of loading the boat onto the trailer that forces the clamp back into the lock position.

Mine would, if it wasn't hooked to the trailer. It's real heavy on the back end.

That's pretty slick. I like it. The ramp I use in Delacroix is pretty much impossible to load by yourself because it's steep and you slide back down the trailer as soon as you let off the throttle.

ive never had a problem loading or unloading i just lean down and attach the winch hook from in the boat i always leave about 5 foot hanging out after i launch i pretty much launch the same way let out about 5 feet back up until boat starts to slip off then i unhook and troll to the dock to tie up takes about 2 minutes or less to load or unload. if your boat is slipping off when loading you got too much trailer in the water. I always kinda turn loading and unloading into a competition with whoever else is at the ramp like im on a stop watch. feels good to be able to back in, make it back to the boat, trailer it and pull out while the guy next to you is still trying to holler at the tow driver to move up or down.

Boggy point at orange beach has tons of current sucking through. Hardest place I’ve tried.

Boggy point is definitely a challenge. Gotta aim up current and when the front end gets in place you have to gun the back end against the current or you back end will slip off.

Heck I can't ever get my boat to line up on the winch so that wouldn't do me any good. LOL

I share your frustration

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Sounds like y'all are backing in too deep.
Long as I leave my fenders just above the water my boat will line itself up. Then just a little throttle and she'll sit right down on the bump roller. I just lean over, hook the winch and drive out.
No problem.

Yep. Due to my deep V hull, I have to back down a ways. If I didn't have the guide on's I couldn't hit the center either.

Steep ramp and/or current make it a challenge as well.

I had used a flat bottoms with no guides for several years. Essentially a flat trailer. You had to get the front in place then use the motor to get straight on the trailer. I got really good at it and could even load it in some wind or current.

Nothing I’ve ever loaded has been as bad as a pontoon. Never could load it by myself. Always had to have my dad back the trailer in as I pulled further onto the trailer. It was awful getting it straight on the bunks.

I picked up a new fishing boat yesterday, so I’ve got to learn how it wants to be loaded. It shouldn’t be hard. It’s a mod v, almost a bass boat shaped hull. Should load up easily.
