After much thought... I'm scared these small suv's won't last long towing my 1648 jon boat up one of the steepest hills in Alabama.
I live beside Mt. Cheaha so cant be steeper than that. Lol All them small vehicles has 4 low, that’s the whole reason they put 4 low in vehicles to change the gear ratio. That jon boat ain’t that heavy. IMO. Just a suggestion, do as you please by all means.
A friend, the Bible and a banker will get you though about anything.

I had a 4 door 4wd Geo Tracker for years, mainly got it for a work vehicle for transportation, but used it for about everything when it was said and done. I pulled a 16’ hydrosport fiberglass boat just fine with it. Stopped it well also, just drove with some sense was all. Not pushing you to buy something, just my experience.
A friend, the Bible and a banker will get you though about anything.

I've never towed a boat with a small suv... will they tow at interstate speeds without being in a strain? Slowing down from 70 to 50 on a hill is no fun.
You need a full sized V8. Good luck. An early 90's Chevy 4WD would be a good choice if you can find one.
