Someone school me on the sizes of red dot. I see 1 moa up to 6 moa sizes. I like a small aiming dot (aim small miss small). I'm looking at putting one on a 9mm ar CMMG Banshee pistol 5" barrel. I thinking the Leupold model below. It is the only one with a 1 moa dot I can find. I'd like to know if this thinking is wrong and a bigger say 3 moa dot would be more of the way to go.

I'd say no smaller than 3 MOA and probably bigger. 3 MOA is going to cover about 1.5" at 50 yards and this doesn't sound like you're planning any precision shooting.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

2 moa is common and useful. Truthfully , much smaller than that and you need a scope

ok I was thing backwards. I was thinking 3 moa at 100y = 3" and at 50y would = 6" I didn't want to cover that much of my target.

I Like to stay around a 3 MOA dot. Anything I am shooting at with a red dot is going to be inside 100 yards anyway

3 MOA is about the size of a quarter at 40 yds.

83% of all statistics are made up.

I have a 2 MOA and a 4 MOA. The 4 is easier to shoot. But, not as accurate once you get to 100 yards.

..and a 6 MOA is even easier to shoot at short range and less accurate at 100. Easier to find the dot but covers up more target.

(trying to help the OP understand how it works)
