There are a couple of guys on here that have them and think they're fantastic scopes. 257 Weatherby has one and likes it. I think my next scope buy will be either a VX 5 or VX 6. I think the VX 6 2x12 will be perfect atop my 338 win mag.

$870 to be exact. Use SWFA price match plus 10%. Gun pro deals has it for $900 free shipping. Then go to swfa tell them they will do 10% off the match price comes to $870

Guess I’ll know what I’ll be doing in the morning. So what height rings are you using on the 56. I like a scope as low as I can get them

Depends on taper of barrel but I use Talley highs on my 56’s. No need for super high

No brained for me I bought the 3-15x44 right after hunting season this year. Did the SWFA price match, but by the time I ordered it, they had put it on sale. I figured the price match discount code wouldn't give me as much off, but it gave me the original discount off the sale price. I ended up with $680 something in it. I have to thank cuz-pat for that deal! He told me where to look for the best price at the time ...

SWFA is a great outfit. I feel kinda bad using 110% every time I order from them but I mean if they offer it, well alrighty then. Thanks for showing a few of us how to use it last year!

I didn't get that memo... Run sku through a sourcer website, it spits out best price, take that price and have it 110% price matched at SWFA

257 - You have seen them both. Which one do you like better for low light performance, this one, or the Swaro you bought last December?

The older 3-12-56 habicht nova. I had a z6i and yes that would beat the Vx5 a tad. But I think the vx5hd is leupolds best offering yet. And I have regular vx6’s Which are might good. But the 5 walks off and leaves it behind

I have not used one in the field but I have looked through one in a store which isn’t very telling I got both, you won't be able to see much difference between the VX5 and the VH6 , or at least I can't. But you can tell a difference in your wallet.

I've got a 3-15x44 VX5HD and there ain't a thing wrong with it for that price range. I think I gave around $7-725 for it. That's a deal for this scope it compares well to more expensive models.
My only complaint is the tube length in front of the adjustment knobs is really short and I had some trouble getting it mounted like I wanted it. I had to go through several configurations before I got it like I like it. Of course the fact that most things I own are long action meant I had a bunch of mounts laying around to test fit. Because this ain't the first time. And also why I've been using rails a lot lately.

Here is my evaluation: Looking down a power line at over 1,000 yards at a deer in the daylight... You can't tell much difference between the Leupold and any more expensive scope... just take your pick.
The real test of a scope to me is this.... how far can I see bullet holes in the 9 or 10 ring (in the black circle). Some of that has to do with magnification, yes, but you can easily compare 2 scopes side by side if they are adjusted to the same magnification.
So I throw one of my trusty PM II's up there to compare it with and let's see....
I can say this - if you are looking down a power line trying to shoot at something as far as anyone should be taking ethical shots at animals - You don't need anything else. Strap the Leupold on there and go with it. If you just want to spend the money you saved go some work done on your rifle instead of throwing it at marginally better optics.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
