Anybody heading to Omaha for the CWS this year?

I’m not planning on it, but I would love to. If Mississippi State somehow made it to the finals, I might would do it

I got a friend that owns a King Air twin prop and if AU goes far he’s on standby to fly a group of us out weather permitting.

That would be a cool trip - I hope it works out for you guys.

Great trip. We went once in high school, went too early and stayed too long.

Vandy or Arkansas ought to win it. It's baseball though and it really isn't very predictable in this playoff setting. Hopefully one of the SEC teams can walk away as the champs

They look far and away the best teams left. Vandy is the best team I've seen in a long time.

I agree. If it was a 3 game series I wouldn’t count them out but I don’t think they have enough. Vandy is very good, but everyone is sleeping on Louisville and they are very talented and well coached

Arkansas is tough too. Arky and Vandy were were the co-favorites in the odds that came out after Supers at +300. AU is +1000

I'm liking my Wolverines' chances. They knocked off the #1 Seed (UCLA), and won today over Texas Tech. They have THREE strong pitchers. The winning pitcher today (Kauffman) went to the same high school as my older boy (Brother Rice HS, Bloomfield Hills, MI).

I'd be shocked if anybody beat Vandy. I was shocked that Arky lost today too so who knows

Michigan actually has a pretty rich baseball history. I remember them being in the CWS a lot when I was a kid/teenager.

Leading 7-3 in the 9th. I like my Wolverines chances.

I’m thinking that I may be wrong about a Northern baseball team after talking to a college baseball coach last week that also played six years in the minors. He told me that typically talented teams from the North can hit the ball really well but might not be as strong defensively. Reason being is because of the weather. He said that a team like Michigan spends the majority of their practice time at the indoor batting facility because of the cold temperatures plus the rain and snow that they have to deal with in the spring. Defensively it hurts them because they lack practice time on the field where they encounter bad hops from the natural playing surface as opposed to artificial grass indoors fielding. But occasionally you come across that team that is talented on both aspects like this Michigan team is.

Makes sense to me.

Michigan coach shoulda played some small ball with 2 on and no outs with number 8 and 9 batter up....Both of them whiffed.... hope it dont get them beat....

CWS officials last week told him three times he had to settle down because of complaints. He told them to pound sand. I suspect he would try to claim First Amendment rights or something and say if the SEC and NCAA allows cowbells at MSU and other people to yell during a pitcher's windup or at batters or heckle specific players then he can whistle.

Someone needs to take one for the team and beat his ass. Ejection, arrest, whatever, but a fat lip might help him not whistle. It's really annoying.

No you wouldn’t. This guy has been at the SEC championship games every year. This year the LSU fans were getting their tale spanked and went to complaining to security. All they could do was make him move out of the assigned seating as he had a ticket for general admission. We were in between the 2 whistlers. I actually got my picture taken with him. And the Vandy dancer was 2 rows in front of us. It’s good to have fans that passionate that follow their teams around the country.

That one whistler “Preacher” has a serious Trailer Trash Mullet going on. I bet he has a Vandy flag flying outside his double wide .
