I got the Sumtoy mount for mine and like it and never had a cerakote but I’m sure it’ll hold up better than dipping

Depends on the gun for the mount. If you're shooting a pump or semi with a flat milled in the top, a LOT of folks like the Marlin 336 Burris base for the mini red dot sights. The sumtoy base is contoured and will fit most any semi or pump gun no matter if its got a milled flat or not. If you're shooting a single shot break action probably a piece of weaver rail bedded to the barrel that has been drilled and tapped for the same. I'd go with cerakote too. But then again, some may say I'm biased
