Well the 20 year old box blind on probably the best spot on my property is past the point of no return. I want to replace it with a mid-price range box with plenty of room for two. Have zero experience with these so who does?

I'm sure you could build one for cheaper, but if you get a Sportsman's condo, it'll last forever. SC-2 model. Building anything by yourself is difficult and that was my dilemma with doing it. You can get them for a good bit cheaper than what their MSRP is...

Call up your local motorcycle/atv dealership and see if they can hook you up with those big crates that ATV's/UTV's come in. We've got friends that have a few stands built from those and they're not bad for a ground level box blind to stick in the woods on a ridge top.

We had nothing but problems out of ours. They are not deep enough imo. Ours stayed wet all the time as the windows leaked and door warped them they smelled like dead stuff. I gave a couple away a few years ago just to get rid of them. I would not buy another one.

Another problem I had with the plastic blinds is that they are HOT to sit in, especially if they are not under a good shade tree.

Scott's Outdoors in Jay, FL sells a really nice custom built box blind. They are fully sealed in all seams and window frames with insulated foam. I have had deer 10 feet from me downwind for minutes at a time and none have smelled me. My only complaint is that they are loud when you bump the sides or move around in them. But a little carpet on the floor and some adhesive felt in the right places and they are quiet. I seem to recall they are made somewhere in Alabama. Maybe give them a call if that might be what you want.

oops, I just realized you said room for two. The one I have could hold two but it would be tight. Not sure if they make a two man version or not.

Interesting. I’ve not had problems with mine. They’re big enough for me, but I’m a medium at best by aldeer standards laugh

Where they make them, which is West Point, Mississippi. Doesn't look like it's very close to you, but I drive by there frequently. You've got to think shipping those things costs an arm and a leg. I picked mine up directly from them on a trailer.

Hmm. May have to make a detour next time I go to Tuscaloosa.
