I've got too many projects. '95 1/2 1st gen Tacoma, '96 2dr Yukon, '64 Falcon, '40 Chevy 2dr sedan, & a '85 Chevy C70 Dump Truck (hopefully it gets sold this weekend and 1 less project - fingers x'd)

I've had just about every project car that you can think of from a 1966 Mustang Fastback to a 1967 Chevrolet Stepside to a 1989 BMW 318is to a turbocharged 1991 Miata. For some reason I have a soft spot for Jeep Cherokee Classics, Jeep Wranglers, BMW E30's, and of course Miatas because it is a car that is perhaps the most pure driving experience in an automobile that you will ever have. We are about to take this one on a 10 day old fashioned road trip up through the Appalachians and back down with no particular agenda but to have fun, drive some great roads, eat some good food and explore places that we have never been. I haven't had to do much to this one other than give her some new tires and wheels and install a new fuel sending unit. She only has 77k miles on her and drives like new... I'll end up pulling the engine when I have everything ready and swap in an LS motor using either the V* Roadsters kit or the Flyin' Miata kit, and turn her into a Porsche/Corvette killer. She's already plenty fast in the twisties, but she lacks grunt. This is the one that I sold to Toothdoc. It's got quite a few engine and performance mods on it and is built to look like a vintage British sports car. This is another 1991 vintage style Miata that I did... My 1997 Sahara that I sold recently... My last BMW E30...

A 1974 Honda CB500 Cafe Racer that I resurrected form the grave and gave her a new lease on life... My 2001 Bonneville "Black Betty." Mrs. Irish's Bonneville America on the BRP... My 2001 Kawasaki W65... Me teaching Mrs. Irish how to ride when we first started dating... She's riding an old Honda Nighthawk 250 that I bought at the Montevallo State Riding School auction for $700 and fixed up for her. It turned out to be a great learning bike for her. Coming back form Hot Springs, Arkansas and Mrs. Irish putting on her rain gear. Not a happy camper...

I'm getting the itch for a Jeep again....I got dad into them about 9 yrs ago and helped him buy one, probably the cleanest TJ you'll ever find. Trying to get him to sell it to me now since he barely drives it. It's a 99 Sahara with only 110k miles and is bone stock. If I can get my hands on it, it'll get a 2.5" spring lift, a 1" body and motor mount lift, tummy tuck with a slip yoke eliminator kit and CV driveshaft, bumpers, rocker panel sliders, winch and 33's. For now, though, I'll just keep day dreaming about it...

I wish this site had a photo upload capability. I'll just say I brought back an 88 VW Scirocco from near death around 2003 and made it a daily driver for several years.

The body lift and motor mount lift specifically allow for the "tummy tuck", where you raise the transmission and transfer case up completely between the frame rails, allowing for a flush skid plate. Gives you significantly more ground clearance in the middle of the jeep. In a perfect world, you want the least amount of lift necessary to fit whatever tires you want to run and still have room to flex. Keeping the center of gravity as low as possible makes a better trail rig. And no probably won't run falkens. Thinking the Goodyear MTR Kevlars, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I’ve got way to many projects in various stages and just started a bagger I’ll probably never even ride. The funny thing is my wife thinks they’re all for sale. I think that’s why I’m doing the bagger, if she makes me sell one it’s first on the chopping block.
I’m really close to finishing my Peterbilt/Dodge truck, Started the bagger Got a 72 Monte Carlo pro street LSX in the works, a 67 Chevy 4x4 on a 02 Tahoe chassis that the body is almost fitted on, a 29 ford cabriolet street rod, 77 CJ Levi Golden Eagle and a 79 A model KW wrecker that close enough to finished that we actually use it daily

I use to think so as well but the horse power and reliability are irrefutable It is a small window step side Thank the good lord it’s not a big back window fleet side SWB!! No doubt LS is the way to go nowadays. I wanted to put a amc 304 or 360 in my jeep but it’s way to high. I’m goin SBC and a turbo 350 mounted to my Dana 300.

I have had Jeeps for 16-17 years, this is the one I don’t see Me ever selling. It is about as clean as one comes and is very quiet running, drives tight no squeaks or pops. 2005 LJ Unlimited Rubicon with 98k Miles Factory 4.0 liter, 6 speed, Dana 44 F/R lockers, 4.11 gears, SYE, CV drive shaft 3.5” Old man Emu lift, Rock Sliders, front and Rear bumpers, 33x12x16” tires I have a Gibson exhaust to put on it but just have not gotten around to it yet. I drove it to Atlanta from Birmingham on 1/2 tank of gas, when I bought the hard top. It is a great time and pleasure to drive

Saw a build a while back where someone took an LJ, cut about 10" out of the tub basically making it a TJ tub on an LJ frame, effectively making it like a TJ with a stretched wheelbase. Had 40s on it on full width D60's. That was one bad dude.

My other is one that I am still driving as I work on it. 1972 C10 Cheyenne Super short wheel base, It has a little damage on the front passenger side but not enough to keep me from enjoying it. After the other one is complete this one has some work coming its way. It has a 454 big block in it and pretty dang fun to drive. I never thought I would find one of these I could afford but it kind of fell in my lap a couple years ago. They are getting hard to find and dang expensive. Mauser, That is my next project if I can find a decent one. Those things are getting sky high also.Love the fj40's.

At one time I had an FJ62. Loved the size of it with the four doors. Put a 3" lift on it, 4.56 gears, ARB bumper, locker in the rear, roof rack, winch,...but an inline 6 with 160hp that got 12mpg just SUCKED. If I ever won the lottery, I'd buy another one. Add Dana 60 axles, a small lift, Chevy crate motor,...

A soft top jeep is like driving a cheap tent. Whatever the weather is outside, it is inside. That’s why you man up and never put a top on it. I did, about 30 years ago. Then I discovered air conditioning! 😆 I figured you was tuff as nails in your elderly age

A bikini top is a most for a Wrangler in the summer. It's really not bad with the top and doors off as long as you're moving, but sitting at a stop light mid-day in the summer is brutal. With the bikini top you at least get a little shade.

A soft top jeep is like driving a cheap tent. Whatever the weather is outside, it is inside. Definitely prefer the hard top over the soft top. The lifts that hang from your garage or carport ceiling with a hand crank on the wall is gold. Makes removing the hard top a 1 person job instead of 2 or 3. I can remove the hard top off dad's TJ all by myself about as fast as most people can take out the windows and lay down a soft top. Then you just let it hang and park under it so it's not in the way.

I remember one August day, sitting at a red-light in Montgomery, on my customized 75 HD Iron head, it was about 104 degrees, my oil tank (located directly under my balls) was around 220 degrees, sweat pouring off my chin and nose, the bike rumbling, the heat monkeys playing on the pavement ahead, and I'm thinking, "Hot Damn, this is fun"!

I don’t give this truck near the attention it deserves. This thread inspired me- I may get it out and clean it up tomorrow. I’ll do a little bit every year to it. There’s plenty things I’d like to do to it, probably not any time soon though. That's awesome! I had a '79 K5, 9" lift and 39" mudders, and a bone stock '89 K5.
Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.
Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.
Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

It is a great time and pleasure to drive Sweet drive train. Black over white is a sharp color combo for a jeep. The last CJ5 I owned was B/W.

Hey! I know where that ford truck pic was taken!
But seriously that’s a cool old truck and it’s awesome to still be in the family.

Nice Impala & F100. Wasn’t that Impala for sale a while back? Yes, still is.

Most of yall have seen my 68 F100. This weekend the motor came out for a rebuild. Pretty much gonna be a frame off at this point. Way easier to take the bed, cab, and front clip off to get to what I need to get to. Planning on fixing the major rust while I am there, body panel rust may or may not get fixed, haven't decided yet. New suspension components, all new brake lines, fuel, etc. Got a buddy with a saw mill that's gonna cut cypress planks for the bed. Recover the bench seat. Motor is getting completely rebuilt. The bottom end looks good to be all original. As you can see, lots of carbon in the upper cylinders due to bad rings. Number four was running lean for quite some time, which makes no sense as it's the closest to the carb. Piston was burned. Number 6 didn't look so hot either. Whoever (I know who and it's not going back) did the head work, did about as bad a job as I've seen. Very poor valve job. These heads also came with press in studs that come out easily, especially with any cam or rocker changes. Well, someone took the time to machine down the bosses and tap studs for 5/12 studs. Why you wouldn't just go ahead and do them all while you have it in the fixture is beside me. But anyway, that will all be fixed. Going back with stock bottom end, very mild cam (you can run into dynamic compression issues quick with these motors), Offenhauser C intake with likely an autolite 4100, and long tube headers with duals. I've already put chevy 6 cylinder rockers arms (1.75 ratio to Ford's 1.6) . Hoping to get around 250 horsepower and 350 lb-ft. If you really want to go crazy, you can get 450-500 horsepower out of them but it comes at significant expense. If you turbo them, the sky and your pocket book is the limit.

I debated on mine. I originally wanted to get it painted to look like the day it drove off the lot, but now I'm leaning more towards a clear coat and keep it's patina the way it is.
