Lately I been having a reoccurring theme in my dreams. Essentially, I end up in a situation where my life or my family member’s life is in danger and I have to draw my concealed handgun. Every time I get to this situation I pull the trigger, I feel it actuate, but it doesn’t fire. In my dreams I always associate it with an issue with the trigger mechanism not the ammunition. In these dreams I end up almost dying before finally getting rounds off. Sometimes leading up to the situation I’ll have anxiety in my dream about whether or not my pistol will fire if and when I need it.

Only thing I can think of is that I need to buy a new pistol

I had the exact dreams and would wake up in a cold sweat.I lost the use of my arm and hand within the year . I know it sounds like I’m joking but Dead serious. I shoot left handed now. Kinda gave me chills when you brought this up.

For 30 years I had dreams of having to use my duty weapon on occasion and it never failed to actuate. These were very clear and vivid dreams. In one I could even remember the tag number and description of the person and approximate address of the incident. The tag was a Tuscaloosa County tag, the person was a tall W/M with longish brown hair with a full beard. No idea what it meant, but it got my attention for awhile. By the way, the guy exited his vehicle and had a handgun in his right hand and I nailed him center mas in my dream.

Ive had similar dreams for years. As funny as it sounds, either I can't draw my gun from my waistband, or I can't pull the trigger. Ive had these dreams in a protection situation and the most common when there are hogs running all around and my rifle trigger won't pull. Strange stuff....

How about...………. there is a decision you need to make, you know it needs to be made but you hesitate on making it, afraid of the consequences. Your mind knows what to do and you know it, but you just cant make the call.

Hmmm, but in the end I always end up shooting the bad guy. I always get pretty hurt before. It’s like the pistol not working is holding me back from making the hard decision, which always get me hurt first. Who knows...

Years ago when I was a "Fugitive Recovery Agent" I would repeatedly have a similar dream.

Only I would be shooting the bad guy and seeing the bullets hit center mass.

The Glock I was shooting, although it would fire, would not cycle and I would have to cycle it by hand after every shot for a follow up.

It was also chambered in .40 S&W.

I started carrying a 1911 in 45 ACP and those dreams stopped.

I had the coolest dream the other night that had these little transformers toys (You know the little robots) and I went up to them and picked them up and started studying them and they turned into beautiful angels, they stuck around for a while talking to me, Mrs. Irish and some friends of ours, and when they left they left us we looked over at where they had been and there was this table and on the table was a collection of priceless 45 records: Hank Williams, Elvis, etc... and there were all these little silk bags (Like you would get jewelry in) and in those bags were priceless coins and gems. They left them for us because they were thanking us for freeing them from the toys. It was a beautiful dream. Seriously...
