I've killed 4 squirrels in my yard today with mine. Theyve been getting a break because I've been gone every morning on the weekends turkey hunting. They were thick this morning

Upon further investigation, I think I’m gonna get some subsonic 22 ammo, I know it won’t cycle the 10/22 but I can charge the bolt on it quicker than cocking a pellet gun.
Dang squirrels were digging up seed we planted in the garden, old lady was ballistic...

I have a crossman semi auto 12 shot co2 with iron sites that will wear a squirrel out. If you can acquire the target in the little site you can kill it. Has a 12 shot cartridge.

That subsonic .22 is still powerful and gonna "glance" and travel a good ways with killing potential if you hit something that causes it to "glance"

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Understood, I read about the pellet rifles and also about the 22 ammo. Gonna take em out of the trees with my 22 “safe angle”. From the sounds of these high speed pellet rifles, they are almost like a 22. I figured I probably won’t ever use a pellet gun for anything else.
Thanks for all the input fellas.

Like Wiley said, a 22 sub may sound similar to a pellet gun but that’s about it. 22 pellet weighs ~15gr and travels 900fps? 22sub weighs 40-60gr and travels over 1000fps, that’s a lot more momentum & energy. 22 subs have taken the place of pellets at my house.

I've been using the subsonic 22 around my house the past few months. One thing I haven't been impressed with is the precision, or lack there of. These are 710 fps though. I may try the one closer to 1000 and see how that goes.

My 8yr old can keep an 8” plate swinging all day from 300yd with cci standard velocity. Box says 1070fps, I haven’t shot them through a chrono yet. Cci quiets get shot the most and have been accurate enough

CCI Standard Velocity is subsonic and, as far as I'm concerned, the best .22 ammo out there for all around use. Very consistent and very accurate. It really shines when shot thru a suppressor.

I bought a gamo big cat when they came out several years ago and was to the point of throwing it away..but after about to full cans of crossman premiers it started putting them in the same hole at 50-75 yards...bet i shot it more than a thousand times before it got remotely accurate...my remedy...by a better gun cause that thing was junk

The "trick" with a break barrel is not to hold the foregrip like a conventional gun. You open your hand and simply lay the rifle on your plam. Do not grip it. Dont even curl your fingers up.

I went by Larry’s today and picked up a box of CCI quiet shells. I think the box says 710 FPS.
They had a couple of brands but not the ones you recommended. I shot 10 in the 10/22 to see how low they impacted. I set up at 25 yards, used the 100 yard tic on the reticle and was shooting a ragged hole about 1/2” left ; couple of clicks had it center mass.
This is a 10/22 with a Cabela’s brand caliber specific scope, has the BDC reticle.
Let the games begin tomorrow....

I think they are very quiet. I didn’t wear any ear protection. I think I can clap louder than the report of these rounds. Did I mention they are very consistent....
I could really see myself buying that Savage heavy barrel that is suppressor rready. Or the Ruger. Both look nice.
Maybe Christmas......

These get used when pesky varmints have their head out of a hole around 20yrds out. Not much louder than the colibri in my plinker. The colibri isn't fast enough for Alvin at that range as he'll duck at the report before the projectile reaches him.

I'm surprised the cci quiet cycles in your 10/22, it won't cycle in my pistols
