Remember, not that smart,not that hard, hunting 3.5 days a week and glad to kill 1-2 "mature" bucks a season in Jackson. Then you started hunting South Alabama where deer are much smarter and harder to kill. I thought your bore might be rusty. Why don't you stay outa my post and I'll stay outa yours. I don't think anybody seriously thinks that all of them are legitimate, but I believe the one in question is. Brandon has about a hundred good places to deer hunt. The place he claimed to have killed that biggest one off of has a one buck limit. I wouldn't forfiet my rights to rifle hunt a place a mile from my house for the rest of the season for an illegitimate deer, espicially when memberships run about a grand apiece.
If he brought it in from somewhere else, he would have claimed it came off of one of the other places he hunts where there would have been no consequences for killing a buck.
If I had to guess, I'd say he went off from here and killed a couple good deer and had some fun pulling people's chains about it, but then when he killed a legitimate monster a mile from his house alot of folks didn't beleive him.
It's better for folks to think they came from somewhere else anyway, deer like some of the ones killed this past season are gonna draw too much attention to Jackson County as a true trophy area and drive up lease prices.

Ohhhh, I get it now. I hurt your big ol ego. I never said south al deer were smarter just more pressured. All I said was hunting in Jackson county it was much easier for me to kill mature
deer than in south al.

If you DO know something about the deer and have proof then post it up instead of trying to stir up sentiment against him by taking cheap shots.

I wouldn't know anything about veiled. I usually speak my mind as opposed to insinuating.

The rumors keep growing on this one. A guy at work had a picture of it on his phone today and said the word around Hale County is that it came from near Greensboro. Who knows, this one deer may drive lease prices up state wide before it's over lol.

Several years ago I was "grilled over the coals" for killing a great deer that several members were hunting. I was lucky and no skill was involved-it was simply that deers' day to die. After all of the allegations started flying around, I made a promise to never display my deer so other hunters could make up the stories again out of jealousy. I hunt by myself when after a big deer and this year I was loading up a super nice deer into the truck when a neighbor walked up to see what was going on. That is the first big deer I have killed in years that anyone besides my processor and family has laid eyes on. I am still waiting for allegations to come out about that deer. (The neighbor heard the shot at 4:55 and was nosey about what I had killed.) I know we all like to brag about how great we are as hunters, but others like to take successful hunters down with their negative comments. I'm not saying this is what is happening here, but it could be. Congratulations on the kill either way.

Okay, I gotta bring this one back up to the top. I was told yesterday from someone who SHOULD know what they are talking about, that it had been confirmed that the deer, that this post was started about, was killed in a high fence in Georgia, brought back to AL, passed off as a wild killed deer. I was told it had been kicked out of the Harbin Ford big buck contest.


I don't have a dog in this hunt, I was just wondering if anyone would care to confirm or dispute this?

Dejavu all over again. Was never allowed to enter Harbin's contest. Rules are you gotta bring in the whole deer. He only brought in the antlers off the big deer about 5 days after the deer was killed. They scored it for him.
Where did the other bucks this year come from, your "someone who SHOULD know" know that?

I'll axe him next time I run into him, which shouldn't be more than a week or so. Of course, he was the one that said it got kicked out of the contest so even though I would think the guy SHOULD know, he may not know as much as he thinks he does. He may just have been blowing.
