Anyone here ever been drawn? I put in for the lottery today. It’s the last day and cost $10.

I quit donating my money. Tried for years for a cow archery, supposedly the least desired, and never got drawn.

Good luck to those who applied. Hope you get a tag and have a good trip.

I'm all in on the wildlife lottery too. I don't mind donating a few duckets to a wildlife department, especially one that is helping to re-introduce elk in suitable habitat.

Wanted to get in it this year for the first time, but totally spaced on the deadline so looks like it’ll be another year before I can make a donation to them. I figure if I try for 10-15 yrs, the cost of the draw/license/trip expenses still will be a savings compared to trying to go out west. Good luck to you guys who put in.

Probably stemmed from ducat, which was a gold coin used in Europe many years ago.

I put in for a Michigan elk tag in 1985, the first year I applied. Got drawn for a cow tag, and bagged a nice one the first day. Of the 52,000 people who applied that year, 90 got cow tags and 30 got bull tags. Of the 120 hunters, 119 were successful. Was a $94.00 elk hunt- $4.00 to apply, and $90 when drawn.
