For $1.97 each you just can't lose. They had a decent assortment of their own private label, Ozark Trail, lures.

Can't lose? Oh how many times I've had cheap lures have the hooks ripped out or wouldn't run. You get what you pay for. I might consider H2O, but not those!

They seem to get decent reviews (not those, specifically, but the Ozark Trail lures in general). May not hold up in the long run for the serious fish-a-tournament-every-weekend guys, but for the occasional recreational guy, they seem to be decent.***
***I have never used them personally, just reading/watching reviews

I've tried a couple of the Ozark Trail lures just to see.
The frogs would not hook up despite me eventually allowing the fish to swim away with it.
The crankbaits worked but a couple were erratic. Not "they hunt" erratic but "that's shitty" eratic. I threw them and the frogs away.
If I buy anything in WM it's a brand that I know - Strike King, Arkie, Zoom. WM's only motivation is to make money. So if a bait's price is $2 and given their tactics on buying, shipping and costs, they're probably making a dollar or more in profit. Good for them.

Sometimes the lip will pull right out on those cheap crankbaits. Throw with caution. I saw that happen on a new out of the box $12 Spro. It had caught 3 fish in about 25 casts. He slapped the water after a cast through some nast stuff.

I'm often surprised how many folks like the H2O stuff. They look great, equivalent paint jobs to Lucky Craft (that seems to be who they model their lures after), but I've been really unimpressed with their action. They don't seem to have much wobble, and their deep divers don't even get close to the advertised depth, and they will roll if you reel too fast. I bought two of the 15'-18' versions and they wouldn't touch the bottom at any of the same places that a Strike King 5XD would, much less the 6XD. I'm talking about a 10-12 foot ledge, I couldn't get to the bottom (and again it just felt like a straight pull, no wobbling action)
However, their version the "Gunfish" is perfect. I will give them credit on their topwaters!

Agree with you on the crankbaits. I bought a few to try and saw the same things.
They're straight knockoffs, as are the rest of the H2O stuff. Tackle taken to China, changed a little in production and branded as H2O, with lesser quality.

Ryano and others. Don't be so lazy. Slapping the water is not how to clean a lure. it will in time damage any lure. I used to do it too. it bends blades and shafts on a sally or safety pin spinnerbait. It will destroy wooden lures and weaken plastic ones. Years ago it cost me a huge bass well over 10 lbs. I was fishing hydrilla on Conroe and slapping the grass off my Rogue. I had already caught several over 5 that day. the water had come up overnight and the big bass had moved to flooded brush. I hung and fought a monster. finally, I had it beat and brought it to the boat. When I touched it, it made one final lunge and all I got back was the 1/2 " nose of my Rogue. So no, don't slap those lures! Learn from my mistake!

I try to not slap my crankbaits but do out of old habit sometimes. Sucks to get ready to cast and see you don't have a bill on it anymore.

I laughed and slapped my $6 crankbait to clean it the rest of the trip just to rub it in.

Right after Yakima bought Poes, I saw new Poes 400 come out of the pack and first cast all you got back was the diving lip.
