No desire to live there, but i like to visit. The city itself is cool, but i really like heading north or south along the coast.

Enjoy that airport. One of the weirdest to navigate in the country.

I don’t fly into SFO. but it’s inundated with homeless people.

We flew into SFO two years ago when we were out there house-sitting for friends (who lived north of the Bay, in an actual nice city).

Worst airport to navigate, internally and via vehicle. Possibly the worst traffic I've ever been in. My absolute saint of a wife drove us the evening we went into SF proper.

She and I had elevated blood pressure from exchanges like this while driving:

"Is this the street? IS THIS THE STREET? I CAN'T TELL."

Turn here now! LEFT! LEFT!

"WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO TELL ME?"

I CAN'T SEE THE DAMNED SIGNS UNTIL WE'RE ON THEM."

TURN HERE NOW!

"STOP YELLING AT ME I'M DOING THE BEST I CA..."

DON'T TURN HERE! STOP! STOP!

Oh, that's (insert famous street/building) right there. Cool.

'QUIT BEING A TOURIST AND NAVIGATE FOR ME."


North side of the Bay traffic is crazy, too, but smooths out after rush hours. And you're closer to Point Reyes, Bodega Bay, wine country, Muir Woods and other far better places than San Fran and Oakland. I really enjoy traveling and seeing new sites, eating, looking around, but I have no desire to ever return to San Francisco. I'd fly into Sacramento to get to the north side before going into SFO again.

My wife drove, since our friends gave us use of their car and she's more patient than I am. I'm not scared about driving in traffic. I just eventually want to run over someone.

We both were yelling due to the stress and agreed it was the worst driving/riding experience either of us ever has had.

I drive in it daily now. It still sucks.

Beautiful city lots to see and do. Plenty of werdos but the food is fabulous. Take a tour of the city it’s a great trip.

I hated San Francisco......went there once for work and had to stay downtown.......nastiest, stinking place ever! And yes, the poop thing is legit. They are having issues with "public pooping" out there. I remember eating lunch outdoors at a restaurant and a homeless man who had pooped his pants (obvious by sight and smell) came barging through the outdoor eating venue asking people for money. When they declined his request, he got very upset and pitched a tantrum. I don't ever care to return and hope I never have to.
