I’m about to have a baby crawling around the house so I’ve got to start making some adjustments. I’m looking for a safe with a push button/combination, mechanical lock that I can bolt down in a drawer or maybe a wall. The biometric safes are probably the quickest but the electronics worry me. If you own one or have experience with one you’d recommend then I’d appreciate the feedback. I’d like to know of any that you wouldn’t recommend too. Thanks

Check out the Fort Knox Simplex.... it's got push button combination but no electronics or batteries to fail. Easy to operate, even in pitch black darkness.

I don't like em for a protection gun, but I got a ton of windows and a door in my bedroom...it just seems like if someone busted in I wouldn't have time to access it so I keep one on the mantle. i got 4 kids 3-12 the 3 year old knows better but he's still 3...the others r good and understand the loud boom...

You really need to reconsider your safety. An unsecured, loaded gun easily accessible by kids is a terrible situation.

If the child knows how to take the safety off and is strong enough to rack the slide he is old enough to know to leave it alone.

How about don’t put one in the pipe? Not too hard to rack it and the sound alone might deter an intruder.

If the child knows how to take the safety off and is strong enough to rack the slide he is old enough to know to leave it alone. I would be worried about my children's friends getting a hold of the weapon and they may not have been trained properly. VERY bad things can happen, and it only takes a second for things to go horribly wrong. There are options available which will conceal the gun but make it easily and quickly accessible.

I’ve been round and round with this ... ^ this is the answer. I’ve had fingerprint models fail. The Fort Knox is nice, heavy duty enough to where you could cable it to a bolt in the floor or bed frame, and reliable.

It's not a safe but Tarnheim supply outta new hampshire offers Magna Triggers on s&w revolvers.Gun won't fire unless ring is applied to trigger.something that'll allow fully loaded but safe revolver.
Only hits count.

I've got a GunVault SpeedVault. No complaints really seems to work fine. I can get it out as fast as I could open a drawer reaching for it. It's mounted on the wall by my bed right between the nightstand and it's literally right by my head
