I've never used live minnows before but am going to try it tomorrow.
The store only sells Toughies. How do you hook them and is a bream buster
with a bobber sufficient?

If I'm vertically fishing structure as in bridge fishing I'll usually hook them under or behind the dorsal fin. I like to have the point of the hook ^up^. I'm making the assumption that we are talking about Crappie fishing here.

Wondering if these are same as what we get for Stripers. He calls them black salties, but âtoughiesâ is good description. They could live in a bucket for a week I think No. Those are a type of goldfish. Toughies are actually a fat head minnow. To the OP, keep em covered and cool or add a bubbler. They're tougher than shiners, but still touchy. Freeze a bottle of water tonight to put into the bucket with them tomorrow. Keeping them cool will keep them alive.
