Asking for a friend...

SilencerCo. harvesters list the pressure limit at .300 win mag. Is there enough pressure difference from 300 win to 300wsm or 300saum? My research shows there is less than 1000 psi, leading me to believe that normal loading differences could/would account for 1000 psi.

Thoughts?

Different manufacturing lots in primers could cause pressure variations greater than 1000 psi.. IIRC the short magnums have a slightly higher MAP limit than the 300 win mag, but I don't think it would create any issues with the suppressor.

I'd be careful in the summer months,I take your talking factory ammo stead of handrolled.

Only hits count.

Nope, it's handloads but my best accuracy node is at the lower end. I'm not near having pressure issues, not even if I bake those puppies in the sun all day.

With what I knew, I didn't figure with my loads there would be an appreciable difference in the pressures from those rounds.

However, I will keep an eye on it during the summer months just to be on the safe side. Don't want him to ruin a new suppressor...

Better call Silencer Co and ask them. Not sure exactly which suppressor you are using because they make several different harvesters but even barrel length makes a difference. You are probably ok, but better to hear it from the horses mouth to be on the safe side in my opinion. You don't be the first to ask this question.

Did talk to SilencerCo. about it. The WSM calibers are fine but the SAUM calibers are not. Based on my books and research the SAUM calibers have the same max pressures and are often lower than the WSM’s so that’s a little odd but I will follow their recommendations.
