Hoot & Holler, Congrats !
Read that other thread if you have feeding problems.
What model number is that, is it an “S”?
Since its a banded model you will need to keep that front band screw tight or any recoil movement will snap that rear band screw.

25 from a hundred should be 75.
I’m pretty sure it was 1975 when they switched to forend caps and tenon so it was made to pre-75 specs...Interesting.
I think the studded front band was added later?
If it starts busting band screws don’t despair. A high strength 6/32x1 1/2” with nylon nut will put an end to it. An 8/32 will require wallowing out the band holes a tiny bit. Some folk never have a problem whatsoever but I stress mine a lot. Does that one have a little metal flipper on the cartridge carrier to raise the back end of the cartridge? They did that for only a few years.

the front band was replaced, not added, according to the original owner. I’ll check tomorrow for your last question. Thanks for all your info

I guess thats (added) what I meant. You’d probably have noticed the flipper already if it had one, they look out of place.
