Guess ya gotta cheer for someone since Bama won't ever make it there. I can live with that. Bama does pretty good at other sports. But if you just gotta be an ass about it, I guess 5th place is a pretty strong finish for a barn team.

Maybe so. But Alabama isn't a decent team. They sucked and lost to Norfolk State in the National Loser Inviational.
If he has them in the S16 or E8 in two seasons, the NCAA will be up their asses like a colonoscopy.
Before anyone replies "Yeah, but whattabout Auburn and the NCAA" that situation isn't over and probably will result in bad things. Pearl ain't squeaky clean by any means. Believing something and proving something are two different things, though.

Chris Beard has Texas Tech in the championship game in his 3rd season, after taking TTU to the Elite 8 last year in year 2. I believe it had been 9 years before Beard's arrival that TTU made it to the NCAA tournament. Should TTU be expecting a visit from the NCAA soon? Not in any way saying Oats is a great coach or in Beard's league, or anything like that. But, who thought Beard was who he is before now? I don't expect Bama to be going deep into the tournament anytime soon. I don't think it's too much to ask for them to MAKE the tournament within two years. The roster isn't devoid of any talent. If Oats can coach, he has the perfect opportunity in front of him.
