Not everyone is close enough to the coast to get fresh seafood. I often enjoy Capt D's when in Clanton or Columbus Ga. No, I like fresh best but it's not always available. Not all "FRESH" seafood is worth eating either.
Many places serve seafood from outside the US. I don't know if it's true, but I was told the Boiling Point in Mobile serves Shrimp from Asia. You really have to watch it. Take frozen crawfish tails sold in a grocery store. The packaging is similar, but one company sells crawfish raised in Asia the other sells them from Louisiana. Even the seafood market here sells catfish fillets from La, and also filets from Asia. Their seafood is raised in sewage and fed antibiotics. NOT GOOD!

Yep picked up 2 packs of "Boudreaux's Crawfish from Louisiana" from Rouse's and to say i was pissed off when i seen they were from china, would be an understatement 🤬 That chit just plain stanked, and it's easy to tell the difference with crawfish from china vs the US

When I was single and crazy, I’d go to WalMart on a Friday night with my Dale Jr pocket T-shirt. Had me some Captain D coupons in my T-shirt pocket, sorta showing the 7.99 seafood special plate. Fella take a gal home every night if he wanted to!

mhp loves some captain da’grease ...usually 3 or 4 cruisers in the lot at lunch.

I ate at a Captain d's once in my life. That was enough. Ate about one third of my plate and had to stop. I would honestly just as soon heat up some frozen fish sticks in the microwave. The fish sticks would be waaaaay higher quality fish. Not sure what kind of fish they serve at Captain d's but my guess would be some type of shad. Don't bitch about how greasy it is either. The grease was the only decent thing on my plate.

I like it occasionally hot out of the grease, takeout not so much. That being said it's been at least a couple years since I had it.

My buddy used to call them "Floor sweepins" and when he ordered he would always order extra "floor sweepins."

I honestly have a thing for for fish and chips. Add a little coleslaw and it's pretty damn good. I love the Malt Vinegar on the fish battered like that. Maybe it's the Irish in me. There's an Irish pub in Cartersville, GA. that serves a really good fish and chips and I always order it with a nice dark stout or porter.

There's a girl in my office who orders those. Anytime somebody says they're going to captain d's she tells them to bring her an order of crumbles. Apparently they'll just give you a box of them for free if you ask for them.
