Started the season like crap against the Phillies. Just swept the cubs tonight. Might be a fun team to watch again this year. Let's hope so. They been boring and irrelevant for the past few years.

Let's hope so. They been boring and irrelevant for the past few years. You do realize that they won the NL East last year and have many of the top prospects in the game? They burned down their team for farm development, drafts and now it's paying off, with the division title last year and higher hopes for this season. That's what solid teams do with leadership to build for a decade or so, like they had in the 1990s. Funny how people who hate baseball or know nothing about it, chime in on baseball threads. True.

Let's hope so. They been boring and irrelevant for the past few years. You do realize that they won the NL East last year and have many of the top prospects in the game? I do realize that. I've watched them for years and just didn't get all the trades and cuts they made several years back. And the past few years doesn't automatically mean last year. It means just that, the past few years. Last year was the first since 2013. So I guess they're on a roll now.

I’ll second this. Funny how people who hate baseball or know nothing about it, chime in on baseball threads. And those same folks don’t understand the game well enough to comprehend how this works. They burned down their team for farm development, drafts and now it's paying off, with the division title last year and higher hopes for this season. That's what solid teams do with leadership to build for a decade or so, like they had in the 1990s. The Braves offloaded and freed up a ton of cash for the future. Their farm system went from one of the worst to one of the best. They are stacked with talent that only needs a little development at the major league level. It doesn’t happen overnight. They also now have the cash to go out and sign a couple of veteran, proven players, as needed. From a business side, they are building the smart way, for the long term, instead of going out and spending crazy amounts of money like the Phillies did for Harper and Realmuto. They just signed Ronald Acuna Jr, who has superstar potential, to an 8 year extension for a fraction of the cost of what the Phillies paid for either. The division title last year, and the rebuild, is realistically ahead of schedule for what they’ve done. They’re headed in the right direction to be relevant for several years. I’d imagine the “bandwagon” fans will be jumping on board soon.

Nothing about watching baseball is fun imo Amen! Folks who enjoy or even have time to watch baseball, unless they have kids playing, do not have much a life. Perhaps they played the game past Little League level under a good high school coach that taught strategies and the other finer points of the game so they understand the intricacies involved more than just pitch it, hit it, and catch it. I concede that if you know nothing about the finer points, the pace of the game can make it slow and boring.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Pretty much. Everyone is a pro at everything here. We even have professional scouts here. So, because someone doesn’t know chit about baseball, it makes those that actually do know a little about the game “professional scouts”? That makes perfect sense. It’s pretty easy to see why the game is so hard for you to understand.

I might make a statement just to draw a reaction. Guess what? A sucker like you takes the bait every time and runs with it. This is what makes internet forums fun. Suckers like you.

I played for a great high school coach and learned a ton about the finer points and strategies of the game. I guess I don’t have a life cause I usually try to watch a few innings every night. I can also say I didn’t watch a single minute of college basketball the whole season. Some people just like different sports. That’s ok everywhere but aldeer apparently
