I'm gonna say somewhere between 10 and 15.
It is easier to fool a man than to convince him he has been fooled.

If you're considering any buck shot after 30 minutes past sunset as illegal (according to the law, it is), I'd say a decent number of them.
If you're talking strictly high fence and the traditional meaning of "poached" (meaning shot at night with a spotlight or on someone else's land)...then quite a bit fewer.

I'll say this for myself and hold my head high for it. I've never taken a deer by illegal means and have no intention on doing so. I may not ever get that big buck that these guys get to brag about but I'll get to keep my job and my lease. Just don't understand wanting a big deer so bad that you need to break the law to get it.
Don't hear me wrong either. I'm a flawed man.... I eat too many donuts, I dip tobacco and I cuss fluently so I'm not saying the people that do it are any worse or better than I am, it's just not my cup of tea. I think it is because some people are insecure and want to be able to brag. I dont hunt illegally and consider myself an ethical hunter. There are rules, I play by the rules. Any nitwit can will at monopoly or solitaire if they cheat. They get to puff out their chest and brag "look at what I did", but down deep in their soul they know they are a worthless cheat.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

The question, as posed in your subject line is pretty specific. However, the body of the post opens it up to "high fence" deer, which is not illegal. What I suspect he means is entering a high fence deer in a record book dedicated solely to fair chase taken bucks. That may or may not be technically "illegal" but it IS fraudulent and unethical. This was the case with the "Smasher" taken in Lowndes County.

Who cares. It's just a pine goat. I dont understand the antler fascination/envy. I don't care how long you boil 'em, you can't eat antlers. Of course I want to kill a big deer over a small one, but that is mainly because big deer = more meat. Sure, if there are 2 bucks that are the same body size but one has a bigger rack, then yeah I'll shoot that one. But I'd MUCH rather shoot a deer with a nice, symmetrical rack of average size than one of these bucks with a massive, mangled twisted up looking rack. Those do nothing for me.
