Does he try to leave with the wind in his face? A cross-wind? The wind at his back? Is there any consensus on this or general pattern or does it just seem random? I'm thinking about how to approach afternoon sits. If you believe Dan Infalt, it's going to be directly towards either food or does (depending on the time of year)... and wind doesn't matter. Dans the man. You can read all you want to know on buck bedding and setups at his forum, thehuntingbeast.com

If I know for sure where one is bedding , I'm gonna try to get him at first light coming to his bed. I think odds are better catching him coming "home" late after a night of chasing tail in late pre-breeding stage.
