Hope everyone has been hard at it. Got another one today at 7 am and he is a good one. Not sure if I'll get another hunt in Alabama or not but it ain't over next week I'm heading North and west.

Congrats buckbrush. I'm hoping I get enough time to hunt ga a good bit the next couple weeks. I'm supposed to go with a buddy to the lease I was in last year that was loaded so hopefully itll be good for one or two. Went in blind to west point the other morning but only heard 2 so far off i couldnt even get a good direction on them.

Bird from yesterday. Had some nice hooks on him. I spotted this bird last week sneaking through a swamp bottom. Yesterday was wet and windy so I slipped in from above where I hoped he would be hanging out. I actually thought I heard a bird a ways off gobble so I yelped and before I got the second Yelp out he hammered 35 yds away. This bottom is very thick so I couldn't see him but also he couldn't see me. After about 15 minutes of drumming he finally walked into view at 15 yds across my left shoulder. I had enough folage in between us I knew I could swing on him before he knew what was going on. So I waited for him to drum and made my move and put the hammer on him. Very rare does the plan work out to the T in turkey hunting but this was one of them.

Well guys it is looking like I will let you down. I hate it but I seemed to be cursed this year. I’ve hunted harder than I ever have and have yet to have a workable bird. Even KY and Kansas have turned up empty. Sitting here in Kansas right now and we leave in the morning. It’s been as bad as Alabama. I have no clue what’s going on but it looks like a 25yr streak or whatever it is will come to an end unless I can manage one on the last day. I may be able to run back up to Ky for a short trip also

Randy we have all had them seasons. Congrats redhead looks like a good day. I'll be hunting Kentucky the 3rd and depending how the birds act I'll stay there a few days or head to MO and get a day or two. Then it's off to Nebraska for at least a week.

It has definitely been an odd year in places. The lease I was in seemed like most other years but I've been with a friend back to a place ive hunted for the last 5 or 6 years. I can only remember 1 or 2 days in that span we didnt hear a bird gobble on the limb, and they were awful weather, but today makes two in a row. Theres lots of birds here. Saw hens and Jake's, tons of gobbler tracks in the roads but not a peep.

Well tomorrow I head for Kentucky I haven't posted any birds yet because hopefully I'll get a few upgrades. So far I have 52.5,53, and a 63.5 bird which that one will prolly make the final cut. Good luck to those still chasing.

[Linked Image] Well Kentucky didn't take long to produce. Didn't stop raining till 8 o'clock me and my buddy doubled at 8:45. Wet birds ain't the prettiest but they sure taste good. Heading to Missouri not sure if we will hunt the last 2 days or visit family and then head for Nebraska or SD. The Turkey Blitz continue's and still trying to find an upgrade bird.

First day in Missouri was like yesterday in Kentucky very wet. Rained till about 9:30 and overcast. We hit a ridge line about the time the sun started peaking out. This bird and another hammered about 60 yds away. Me and my buddy tried to line up a double but couldn't get them both in shooting range at the same time and I was lucky enough to draw the short straw and pulled the trigger. He was a Monster at 25lbs w/ 10" beard and 1 1/8 Spurs. Found an upgrade bird for sure.

My little buddy has grown up it’s hard to believe we won’t get to Turkey hunt much together for a few years
He is off to college to play football in a couple of months so he will have a busy schedule I am just thankful he loves turkey hunting so much we have killed a pile of turkeys together since he started at 6 years old

Congrats beautiful birds. We are stuck in more rain here in Nebraska I'm done with wet weather. Hopefully it will clear up in a few days.

Today was my last day. We've been hunting Georgia the last two weeks and have heard tons of birds. We probably heard 10 or more yesterday morning but those jokers still have hens roosting with them unbelievably. They've been almost unworkable except right at flydown. They'd gobble but every bird we found had hens all morning. Oh well it was a great year in bama, good luck to yall still hunting.
