Congrats to all of you guys!! I’ve had a tough go of it. I’ve had one bird that was workable and he saw something he didn’t like before I could get a shot. I’ve hunted all but 4 days and it’s been tough. My birds just aren’t acting right at all. Far different than it has been that’s for sure. Getting frustrated; can’t remember the last time I went into April without a kill but that’s where I’m at right now. I may have to “deer hunt” one to break the ice and get things rolling. Maybe this week will be better.

Itll break randy, it's been pretty rough all around here for most lately. As hot as they were at first they've gone just as cold now. Lucky to hear a gobble or two lately. Congrats on the trip yekrut, i really need to plan one of those Texas trips i always see yall talking about.

Been pretty upset with myself this year. Had 2 Miss's in one day. But I finally got it done today. He is a two year old but I'll take him.

Heck yeah man, congrats. I should have had one this morning. Had him at 40 for 10+ minutes and a hen right behind me but he wouldn't budge from behind some pines. He finally walked off and left the hen standing there. Dang turkeys are nuts sometimes.

I’m taking my wife to camp this weekend to mainly get away just the 2 of us but to do some turkey hunting too. Honestly I’m amazed she said “sure I’ll go with you” so if I don’t come back she had something to do with it. smile

Was pretty surprised they gobbled like they did this morning. First setup some deer busted me and shut the bird I was on up off the limb. Got up to move and heard a couple gobbling their heads off in a cutover. I stayed on them for over 3 hours and had one to about 100 yards or so just over the hill, but I had to leave him gobbling to go pick up my son. It sure is hard to leave one that fired up. Oh well think I'll give him a shot Tom.

Got another one a little bit better looks to be a 2-3 year old. Bird gave us a go followed him all morning through a bottom until he finally shut up. Decided to try a few other places but came back at 10am to see if he had changed his tune. He litterally gobbled 75 yards from the truck. Grabbed my stuff and dropped off the hill about 30 yds. He came in drumming and it was over in under 10 mins. Funny how things can change so fast.

Congrats buckbrush. I got stuck at work the last 7 days, but I went on and took next week off. Hopefully some of those birds dropped a few hens off this week.

Congrats again to those who are killing. As much as I want to help the team out with some points; I’m starting to get a little concerned about ending a 26 year streak of killing. Dang I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m hunting too; usually 4-5 days a week.

I did get to watch my buddy kill his first turkey ever yesterday; so maybe luck is changing a little. Taking a day off from then today and will get back tomorrow. Good luck to you guys!! Keep killing!!

Found an upgrade this evening. I dont think I've ever seen this many hens still roosted with them this late. It seems every bird I know of has 5 or 6 rooster near by. Maybe theyll start acting right soon randy.

Finished up this morning. Saw some in a pasture our lease borders yesterday afternoon and slipped out there mid morning. Had a strutter in the pasture headed my way and another bird came sneaking in. Was a dang fine season but I'm gonna enjoy sleeping in tomorrow lol. Looking at either Tennessee or Kentucky the first of may. [Linked Image]
