Was headed home N on 65 yesterday out of Bham. Just S of Cullman, E of 65, prob 5-8 mi S of 278 exit in a big cut corn field, I saw a sounder of hogs. Prob 20ish, sows and shoats. Black. Was mid-day. Kinda surprised, as I wasn't aware that they were in that area. Anybody local seen them in that local?

I like to hunt them too but.................
70 acres doesn't come close to their range and I'm sure there is PLENTY for them to tear up. I like hogs as long as they are nowhere near my property.

Lots of people love to hunt hogs. Most folks just can't admit it so they have to say they hate them. There's populations all around the state that have been placed there by folks wanting hogs on their place.

Exit #278 or US Highway 278?

I'm assuming US Highway 278. If so, before or after Good Hope? There's only one corn field I can think of and it's between Dodge City and Good Hope

Been a few hogs around here for a while. I've seen pictures of them very close to down town Cullman.

I know exactly where you are talking about. There are fields on both sides of 65 right there a couple of miles south of good hope.

I saw a flock of turkeys there last week. First ones I have seen that far north. This field has a for sale sign in it. It is just south of the rest stop

I agree it's terrible to spread them around. But they're really fun to hunt and kill. That tells me there is a 0% chance of them ever going away. Some states have outlawed hog hunting for this very reason- it's literally just too much fun.

We had some idiot turn loose 19 by my land. They destroyed half my food plots this fall, and got into my neighbors corn fields. Hes not a hunter but he sure slayed them when he saw them. He shot 5 the first time. We pretty much all became hog killers and shot everyone we saw. There was only one left , a small shoat at last count. We think coyotes got him.

They destroy land no doubt.

I found out who turned them lose but he denied it. Guy needed a boot in his arse IMO. You cant fix stupid.
