SMH...lots of racist broad brush strokes being applied to this situation that have zero, absolutely zero, to do with one student shooting another student.
We all know and understand that there are way too many nanny state dependent parents, kids equal government checks attitudes and a thug culture in the city black population in not just Montgomery but everywhere. It's simply true. But some of y'alls comments are absurd and plain wrong. Is it even possible to question that people may love their children or have concerns for their wellbeing...even in the hood???? That's disgusting on many levels.
I'll never defend thug animals or the scum that corrupt the system and the society...so don't even go there and call me some snowflake liberal! If we expect decency from people then we should also expect decency from ourselves.

A lot of people showed their true prejudices Hell one even admitted to being racist and accused everyone else of being racists. I honestly didn’t realize it was still that bad. I thought evryone on here tried to give people the benefit of the doubt before making judgements based on skin color and ethnicity but apparently not.

MC21, didn't see the black and white thread you mentioned. But I've seen plenty of similar ones since 2005. My views are probably different from most. I’m by no means a saint I still have my prejudices but I try my best to put them aside. Just think it’s crazy to automatically judge a man on the shade of his skin. I think the media and Hollywood tries to divide us and I just try my best to get along with everyone the best I can.

There had been 39 shootings prior to the last weekend of hunting season ans since the start of the New Year in Montgomery... There's been a hell of a lot more than that, the general public doesn't know about it. I work for the police department.

Let’s not pull punches you live there because of the racial make up and cost that keeps most minority’s out. Hoover was started due to white flight by Berry High and the city of Hoover from being under the Jefferson County School board/ system, that way Hoover kept all of the taxes instead of them going to the county BOE and split the way they saw fit. Most if not all private schools were started due to forced integration now they all hide behind the Christian colors because their attendance fell off in the 80’s which forced a lot of them to close the doors, merge or retool theirselves as Christian based.
