I don't have one but will offer a few opinions. I think it can alter POI so you can't sight in or shoot groups with it mounted. Also, if trying to chronograph multiple guns, it is a PITA to switch between rifles.
The good is they are accurate and are not affected by direct sunlight like traditional screen chronographs. I have a prochrono and a shooting chrony and both will go crazy when bright sunlight hits the screens.
Another option is a Labradar. They are expensive, over $500, but I have read good reviews. Easy to set up, not affected by light and will not affect POI. If you do a lot of shooting it may be worth it.

I def don’t fine tune my groups with the magnetospeed all the time but I’ve shot same groups with it on/off. Doesn’t seem to affect mine but I’ve seen where it can.

I got to use a Labradar a month ago. It's going to be buy once, cry once, I got to have one.

Even the cheaper magneto does what it’s supposed to do. And the labradar are nice a pain to get them to pick up when u have a suppressor
Can’t go wrong with either

Get the mic. Saw it work on a pellet gun.

My wife got me a magneto speed ($170 version) and it works very nicely.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

I've used the Labradar a bunch and whenever my magnetospeed dies that's what I will get next. However, I can't justify the upgrade since the magneto is pretty much flawless in my book as compared to shooting through screens.
The cheap magneto is the best deal for your money. The Labradar is the Ferrari. Both will get you to the grocery store about the same.
To be honest I don't use it a ton. Really only when I'm trying to develop a speed demon load. I do this a lot but I would venture to guess most people do not. It takes a LOT of shooting. Velocity doesn't make it shoot well on it's own and the fastest is rarely the most accurate. However... If the load shoots well it really doesn't matter what the velocity is in my book. A lot of times I use it to only write a number on a piece of paper.
It's for reference. Otherwise not that important.
