I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

That was only a couple of years after Sherman's March. Chattanooga had a rough run there for a while.

That's a good article. I have always been really interested in floods for some reason. Seems like the Tennessee and tombigbee have the most and worst floods of all the rivers that flow through Alabama.

Elba has some pretty interesting flood history also, and quite a bit in recent history.

Read about the flooding on the Coosa River in Etowah Co. back in mid 1800s and what it uncovered. Just look up "Etowah Co Giants". The property is about 1.5 miles from my house and where I was raised. Interesting read also.

Alabama Power was originally going to build those dams, but TVA took those projects over. I think it was the closest our county has ever come to full on Socialism.

Yes, no doubt. Really, really scary social experimentation was going on.

Regarding the Etowah County Giants. That's fascinating. I'd never heard about that. I'd love to hear the theories about those skeletons.

WOW! That's crazy. Would suck to lose 200 acres of topsoil but that would be crazy thing to find a nephilin burial ground! I've never heard anything about that .
