I thought amen corner was part of Augusta National. Me too. I’ve never heard it used in college football. Same here. Never heard it used in this sense. Unless it meant bogey,bogey,bogey for AU.

Dang, y’all. Ever hear of a guy named Pat Dye? I believe he famously called the part of the schedule with Ga and Bama “amen corner.” Ya whippersnappers. I’m a Bammer and I knew this. https://www.thewareaglereader.com/2011/11/just-who-put-the-amen-in-amen-corner/Oh and Dye just happens to be one of my all-time favorite Auburn coaches. His teams were hard nosed and he coached for the Bear once upon a time. Met him in G’ville. Seemed pretty genuine to me. Got to meet Bobby Bowden once too. Super guy. We sat down at a picnic table at Lake Guntersville State Park and had a great conversation.

Dye's "Amen Corner" was actually a reference to Auburn playing Florida, UGA, and Bama in the last month of the season as it fell on Auburn's schedule. It was a bit of an exaggeration on his part, because Florida really wasn't all that good back then, and there were cushion games in between.

They shouldn't even consider a change of date until two games are played in Athens in a row. Total bullchit. Auburn is like that little kid that doesn't get its way and they start whining and crying until someone listens. Hopefully UGA Athletic Director will not allow this injustice to occur. Might as well just go ahead and move all the way up to the first game of the year. Get the ASH WHOOPING out of the way early so we can focus on the rest of the season.
