Going thru some of dad's things and found an unopened box of Hornady 140gr BTSP in the old grey/black box. I shot these for 30 years and now they are hard to find since they've gone to American Hunter style. The lead tips have a little white stuff on the tips. Y'all think they are still ok? Brass is still shiny as new.

Like a lot of companies they cut out slected ammo in their line up. 140btsp ain't only one they cut . A good many in the custum line got cut . Federal done the same in thier classic line of ammo
Also when some ammo went full production during big ears term the stopped making a bunch of types of ammo.
I shot a bunch of the Hornady 140btsp . They are fast , flat shooting . One problem I had at very close range they don't expand . I read that on a bolt tail the weight is shifted foward on the bullet that's why they don't expand , it takes longer . When the bullet slows down it has more time to expand. Don't know just what I read
