I've killed 8 deer with 158 sp federal ammo but I was using a rifle Solid or JHP?

Fedarel American 158 jacketed soft points. I have not recovered a bullet but I have not hit solid bone just ribs.
They hit a lot harder than the 158 hsm hollow point and the 158 soft point magtech
You feel the difference when you shot the three
