Dang I'm addicted to this stuff. I don't care if my breath stinks, I am eating fresh garlic on everything. I don't even want it cooked in the meal, I put it right on top before serving. The Pampered Chef garlic press has been fantastic.

After watching a Netflix documentary on Garlic I had sworn off processed garlic a year or so ago. For any of you who haven't seen it, that eat store bought minced or peeled garlic, watch it before you eat anymore. If you do, you won't eat anymore processed garlic. I guarantee that. I think the documentary series was titled "Rotten"

EDIT: I just looked. Rotten is still on Netflix and episode 3 is the one about garlic.

You can also pickle fresh garlic in a salt water brine and also you can 'candy' it in honey.

We only buy garlic that is produced in the US. Lot's of 'fresh' garlic is produced in China. Read about that...

My neighbor gave me some about ten years ago.
I dig up the bulbs every year and the seeds left behind grow back.
Easy to grow and maintain.

I've grown a lot of things, but never tried growing garlic.

Not surprised. I've used the minced garlic in a jar in a pinch on occasion and it tastes like chit. I keep a few fresh bulbs in the pantry at all times.

Where do you get the "fresh" garlic from? It's my understanding the majority of it - processed or not - is from Chine. I don't have Netflix.

China garlic was or is being processed by prison labor and they have to chew the roots off the bulb. Just a general rule of thumb, dont buy anything from China.

Just plant it whenever. Mine's been regrowing for about ten years now.
Just harvest the bulbs in Summer whenever the flower it produces dies.
The black seeds left behind regrow the plant and new bulbs.

My best friends wife’s family owns Spice World. More than likely where y’all are getting your garlic from. They grow most of their garlic in Cali

Good luck with that. If you don't use anything made in China you have to live in a mud hut, ride a horse and sew your own clothes grown from cotton in your backyard.
