Anyone know a gun shop near Birmingham that has a Sako Finnlight II in stock? I want to at least see one before I pull the trigger to get one coming.

I saw a used one at marks a couple of weeks ago.
Not sure if they are a stocking dealer on New Sakos
Might try Nichols also.

Do you know if you saw a Finnlight II or a Finnlight? I called Marks, Simmons, Caliber, Nichols and they all didn’t know if they would have them or just the regular Finnlight.

I was looking at Finnlights awhile back.

I ended up going down to a Tikka Superlite at $750 from Sportsmans Warehouse in Chattanooga which if I remember correctly is actually slightly lighter than a Finnlight.

Or
I thought about going big baller and buying a Carbonlight...then I came to my senses and realized I don't need to spend that sorta money and it won't kill any better than a Superlite.

It was stainless fluted. Didn’t have the adjustable comb so it was probably not the II

I've got a 20 yr old Tikka M595 in 7mm08 and the Sako Roughtech in 7mm both are great guns. I want to see and hold the Finnlight II to decide if I want to buy one. Its not necessarily about what will kill one better, this is a want not a need.

Fair enough, if I was going purely WANT, it would be the Carbonlight.

Looks like the Finnlight IIs are $2300ish & Carbonlights are $2900ish per EuroOptic.
$600 isn't anything to sneeze at but if you've already spent north of $2K, what's another $600 I suppose.

I'm an absolute sucker for carbon fiber, so that's heavily biasing my opinion.

I’m sure they are fine fine rifles but if I was gonna spend that kind of money on a rifle it would be one custom built for me by a guy who would help me develop a load for what I wanted to shoot out of it.
If nothing else, maybe the old finnlights will get a little cheaper.

That's the way I look at it also. Those carbonlights are NICE, but for that much I could build custom with a McMillan edge stock and probably have a more accurate rifle in any caliber I want.
