I heard the 25 mph winds at 5 am and went straight back to bed.

Wind was howling this morning. I sat overlooking a small hay field that joined a cutover. At 7am, I heard a grunt and looked to my right and a doe pops out of the woods and into the hay field 30 yards to my right. She's looking back from where she came and I get the gun ready. She stands for a second and then trots off. I heard another grunt and immediately a spike with 7-8 inch spikes pops out and is on her tail. That's all I saw today.
They have killed some studs around Macon, Montgomery, Pike, and Coffee county the last week. I haven't seen anything that even made me flip the safety off. I've hunted 10 of the last 14 days. Kinda frustrated and a little burned out. With the storms rolling in this afternoon, I said to heck with it and came on home. Went by office to clear out emails from being off all week and just getting ready for the grind to start back up tomorrow. Congrats on all the kills by members!
