Heading out in the morning. Our deer are getting active . It's about time they are about 2 weeks past schedule . Would like to put some good horns on the ground and not a doe or spike.

Only afew more sits for me. I plan on shooting a doe if I can see one somewhere i can get my truck too... I hunt alone, most of the time and ain’t dragging a doe far., nor asking for help to get one out.
I hurt my left arm several months ago and have little strength in it. Plan on seeing the doctor as soon as the seasons over. Saying all that to say last Saturday when I shot that doe that weighed only 108 pounds, I did not have the strength to load her in the basket on my 4 wheeler. Glad my hunting buddy was there for assistance. Year before last, I loaded to bucks, each weighing a little over 180 pounds. Where is Dora? I will be glad to help you load.

Hunted this morning and saw a small 4 and a huge coyote we call Wolf. The 4 point was too small and I could not get on Wolf to take a shot.

Gonna try an all day hunt either Friday this week or next Monday. I can’t make up my mind which day... haven’t done one of these in years... gonna pull out all the old tricks. Gonna try some rattling around late morning and do a little walking, but gonna hunt the same stand most of the day.. but staying in the woods all day, I’m excited about it, hopfully it turns out productive Good luck man. I got one more trip in me-the last 5 days of the season. Hunted this past weekend and shot a doe,and then Sun morning,I saw a sure enough good one about 50 yards from me; jumped up out of some sage thicket after I had hit the grunt call. The wind was blowing a constant 25-30mph where I was at 38 degree. I honestly think the buck was bedded there the whole time I walked in and climbed my tree, and just jumped when he heard the grunt. I had his horns in the crosshairs the whole time as he walked in the head high grass. He just never offered me a clear shot. Same stand I busted that one opening day on too. It's been a little honeyhole for me.

Best to you guys. I went Saturday and took my 9 year old grandson. I told him I would not take him again because he ate all the snacks and drank all the colas. Saw crows, squirrels and heard owls and turkeys but no deer but had a wonderful time . We walked around and rode the roads looking for signs and prints and he now knows what a deer print is.
May try and go for a couple hours one morning but hopefully will go again Saturday. Thinking about an all day sit.

Going behind my house in the morning! It’s just a hit or miss spot... last season I had 2 huge ones on camera there all season, then this season, I haven’t got really any bucks on camera... it’s just gonna be a perfect wind for the back field and I haven’t hunted this section but twice this season. Maybe something big will cruise through..

Itll probably get hot and rainy with a south wind for the last week. Y'all can go ahead and blame me. It's literally been a south wind and garbage weather every trip I've been up for this year. Screwing all my stand setups up
