I'm interested in seeing what loads work well for those of you that reload for AR-10's(.308)

Loading for the AR-10 is different than bolt .308's and I'd like to see some loads specific to the AR-10 platform

Been loading Sierra 165 gr HPBT with IMR 4895 also Load Hornady 165 gr SST with IMR 4895. Everything I've read say Varget and IMR 4895 are great powders for .308. I just put an adjustable gas block on my PA 10 and really helps control recoil. I've just started experimenting with Hornady and Barns 150's to increase velocity.

Have been shooting the above at feral hogs with very good results.

How may grains of each powder?

I've not loaded Varget but all research I've done it's probably the most used. I've only been loading the IMR 4895
Each rifle is different so I worked up up a load using Sierra and Hornady load books. Start low and work up.

Killed a 252# hog yesterday afternoon with Sierra 165 HPBT. He ran about 40 yds and DRT. I was a little off hitting CNS. I usually to hit behind the ear but hit shoulder area.

I push 150 BTs and SSTs out of my bolt 308 with 46.2 grains. Get pretty good velocity out of a 20" tube (~2830fps) and the most accurate load in my rifle. Most anything around that burn rate should work well. Load up some rounds andet her eat.
