Does anyone know a good "shade tree" tractor mechanic that knows a lot about the good ole Massey Ferguson 135? I have one with lift problems and I always try to do as much work as I can myself. I think I have it figured out to 3 different possibilities but would really like to talk to someone who knows that wouldn't tear my head off just for information. Thanks.

The old British made 135's had atrocious lifts.

What kind of lift problem are you having? I've never seen a 135 that the lift would stay up after the tractor was shut off, but I'm assuming that isn't your problem.

Doesn't really take a whole lot of knowledge to know a lot about a MF135. My brother and I split ours and completely rebuilt the engine all by ourselves, with no help other than the manual.

Have you tried Google?

If you're smart enough to park it under the shade of a tree you should be smart enough to fix it. After many busted knuckles I figured out that ain't true.

What type of lift problems are you having?

The lift isn't working with either lever but I can manually move lever going down to the pump in the belly of the tractor with side plate removed and the lift works fine. I've got a good source that says 2 possibilities but didn't say how to fix it. 1.) control draft plunger sticking in pump 2.). rollers broken on control valve plunger at Pump. The lever to pump doesn't stay in constant contact with the screw on lift top lever. I know it's supposed to.

I have a 135 and the lift has not worked well in years. Pull the top cover and look. It is all covered in the shop manual. I have a pressure gauge on mine to monitor pump pressure.

The lift top is already off and I posted on yesterday's tractors weeks ago. The thread died on the vine and no new information.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Where is the tractor located and can you get it on a trailer?

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
