I like a Chevrolet, but I got tired of putting transmissions in them. Get the Ford.

I've owned a few too. I even bought the legendary 87 toyota new. My 2016 ford may be my favorite.

You can get a brand new left over 2018 Ford F-150 STX 4x4 for 36k. That is what they are asking, may be able to do even better.

Did not state the price but the Ford dealer is asking $32,375 for the 2016 Ford and $28,900 for the Silverado. The Chevrolet has a lot more "bells and whistles" and creature comforts but is not 4WD. Also want running board and spray-in bed liner which the Ford has but about $700.00 add on to get on the Chevy.

Last car we purchased was bought from CarMax with set price. Any advise on what to expect from dealer/Gilland Ford on negotiation?

Thanks.

Gotcha, when I glanced at it, I thought the mileage was price, turns out it was pretty close.

Ford. I’ve got a 2016 With a 5.0, there's not a better half ton gas V8 out there in terms of power and efficiency.

Looking at the price you posted, I would pick the 4x4 Ford.

Chevrolet for a long time has been the better looking, driving, pulling and had the best interior.

Trouble is the purchasing department. They source all the parts from Harbor Freight

I don't understand how all these new modern trucks have so many serious problems.

It seems that the auto manufacturers have out smarted/engineered themselves to the point that they are producing very expensive garbage, with respect to the half tons.

It's a moving target. The emissions standards change, and the engines have to change with them. The 2019 GM trucks now cut off at a stop light. That didn't used to be necessary. Sounds like a good way to stall in a bad area of town.

Most new vehicles have this crappy feature in them. This can't be good for engine longevity.

I'm looking at a 2017 f250 with the 6.2 gas burner. I'm thinking hard about purchasing it...

You can cut the auto stop/start off. Ford is light years ahead of GM in all aspects. The rides better, interiors are better, better motors, better creature comforts. Dad deals with Chevrolets on daily basis for service and repairs. Pure junk. These trucks weren't made to work on anymore. They're disposable essentially.

I will say we have seen a few newer F150 with the V6 have bad oil leaks around the oil pans. All of them have had less than 30k miles and have the new plastic oil pans.

It's all subjective. They both have their gremlins to deal with. Any pickup truck will, including the Japanese ones ( just not as many ). Drive em, and pick the one you like. I have a 16 Sierra right now and I like it but it's not like it's one of my kids or something. If it gives me fits I'll sell it.

Mechanical breakdowns aren’t subjective. I work with a large group of men who have to have 4wd for work. Several of them have personal ties to Chevy and GMC trucks. All of them are having major problems out of the newer GM trucks, mainly with the transmission.

Ford's breakdown just like Chevy's. Yeah, there will be certain issues with each brand, but there will always be problems. Ford 6.0 diesel come to mind ? Ford sparkplugs issue, front control arm issues come to mind ? They all have issues. Some more than others but they al have them. I have worked on them for 30 plus years, so I have a pretty large database to pull my opinion from, and have no favorite among none of em.
