Thoughts on 2016 F150 vs 2016 Chev Silverado
Looks like we have found our “new” used truck, both are 8 Cyl and less than 30K miles Ford 32,500 and Silverado only 20,400 and price within $3,000.00. The Ford is just a bit high but has 4WD. Do not really need the 4WD but would not mind it either. Both have towing packages and the Chevy a much nicer interior package.
Have read several reviews on both but would welcome ideas, thoughts, reviews from folks here who might have or had either.
Thanks.

From what im hearin lately from folks... buy the ford..cause gm been strugglin with their half ton trucks. We got some at work...with less than 30k miles onem an they aint been right from the factory..our 3500hd with the 6.0 runs flawlessly engine wise..its a 2016...but the transmission in that thing is gonna die in the next 5k miles an its got 22k miles on it...no idea what the heck is up with it but that thing shifts like the internals are made of rubber...piece of junk.

] I just got rid of a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 with 110k miles. Great looking and driving truck. Good performance too, but I started having maintenance issues. Goggle Active Fuel Management (AFM) issues. Not sure if the one your are looking at has the 5.3L V8 AFM engine or not. I had problems with burning oil, oil pressure switch, and engine "ticking" often associated with lifter failures in the AFM system. Wiper motor went out due to known crappy design that has not been fixed for years. Again, not sure about the 2016 version, but just feels like overall poor quality and reliability. I looked at F150's and Tundras. Decided on the Tundra due to reliability. Probly the best advice right here

I have a 16 Z71 4x4 with 45,500 on it. So far I love it.

I have a 2016 Chevy. 40,000 miles. Transmission is trash. No power. Nice interior but mechanically garbage Thanks to all and welcome more. First hand knowledge is great. Chevy transmission problem were brought up on several internet reviews that I saw.

Get the four wheel drive, it costs more up front but will help on the backside when you decide to sell. That’s a plus if the 4x4 is a Ford

I’ve got a ‘16 f-150, been pleased with it so far. About 55k miles on it now. I’d recommend shopping around, I got mine with 19k miles 4x4, Xlt Texas edition, for about 4K less than the price you found. But it took me a few weeks to find it. Did not state the price but the Ford dealer is asking $32,375 for the 2016 Ford and $28,900 for the Silverado. The Chevrolet has a lot more "bells and whistles" and creature comforts but is not 4WD. Also want running board and spray-in bed liner which the Ford has but about $700.00 add on to get on the Chevy. Last car we purchased was bought from CarMax with set price. Any advise on what to expect from dealer/Gilland Ford on negotiation? Thanks.

I have a 2016 F150, although it's the 3.5 Ecoboost, not the 5.0. 73,000 miles on the truck so far and not a single problem. I still LOVE this truck and have no plans on getting rid of it. When I bought it, I test drove the Ram, Ford, Chevy, and GMC and the F150 stood above the rest in all aspects to me.

I've driven both, Chevy doesn't compare with ford right now.
